Hey everyone! I’m Caoimhe and would absolutely love to be one of next years social secs! I joined ballet at Leeds after a couple of years of not doing it and have so loved getting back into it. I have met so many amazing friends from joining ballet and have loved my classes and loved the socials just as much! I’d love to be social sec to keep socials fun and interesting, make sure they’re a safe and inclusive space for everyone and incorporate new ideas!

Reasons why you should vote for me:
. More joint socials with other societies - so fun to meet and mix with other new people
. Wider range of sober socials - to ensure no one is left behind if they don’t want to drink
. I may or may not have gone to more socials than classes 👀
. Although I couldn’t attend the freshers revenge social I had so much fun helping organise it and coming up with new ideas
. I’m very organised and will always ensure socials are thought through and planned to make sure everyone has an amazing time - sober or not!
. Crazier Wednesday night socials - ballet needs to be more unhinged !! 🤪

Hey, I am so excited to be running for social secretary! I’ve absolutely loved being part of the society this year and I’m looking forward to hopefully helping make incredible socials for everyone.

I think I’d be a good fit for the role as I’m an outgoing social person who enjoys society events whether that be a Wednesday social night or a coffee meet with my favourite people. I have lots of creative ideas to make our socials as enjoyable, interesting and unique as possible. I also care about making sure everyone feels as included as possible whether that be fresher or third years. My favourite experiences from first year have been with the society and I’ve met so many friends for life and I hope as social secretary I can help everyone experience this.

Things I’d focus on as social secretary would be:
* Creative socials: Think fun themes, cute costumes and themed games to make the night enjoyable- for both the drinkers and non-drinkers. We’ll have interesting themes and also some of the classics like white lies, anything but clothes and of course freshers revenge.
* Feedback-driven: I’ll hear how you as a member of the society want to spend your wednesday nights to make sure everyone has the best time.
* Partnerships: I’ll communicate with companies to ensure the best possible deals for our members.
* Good communication: I’ll make sure posts are clear and informative so everyone is aware of the when where and what of it all.
* Working with other societies: I’d love to partner with other societies, particularly other dance societies as I know we have a lot of crossover between us, to bring cross-society socials into the mix.
* welfare focused: I’ll be committed to making sure social events are are a welcoming, safe and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable.

Ballet society has been such an enjoyable part of my first year and I look forward to every Wednesday night social, it’s the highlight of my week. Thanks for considering me, I’d love to revive your vote.

Hi everyone, I'm Niamh!!

I'm a first year neuroscience student and joined the ballet society at the beginning of first year and have loved every minute of it especially the classes and the socials which I always look forward to and would like to continue this next year.

Because of our amazing social secs from this year, I know what environment is expected and how to have the best Wednesday nights :) The role of social sec interests me as there is nothing better than our ballet socials.

As your social sec, I would create the best games and themes for our Wednesday nights out as well as fun and creative sober socials where we can relax. Some of the ideas I have already thought of include are I’m a celeb, sports day and sailors and sea creatures.

As Social Sec, I will come up with fun social themes and fun games (can’t forget about Jai Ho!) Whilst also focusing on creating an inclusive society by hosting sober socials too! I will also ensure that the society is fun whilst simultaneously making it a safe place for people to make friends and take time away from the stress that uni can cause. Ballet has played an important role in my first year of uni and I have made some amazing friends from it, I look forward to seeing what the next year brings!!
