Hi, I'm Cosmo, a first-year student soon to be a 2nd year student. This year, I am running for your next Publicity and Social Media secretary. Good publicity, like good product design, is about getting better angles and nice fonts (not Comic Sans) until it works.

As a first-year student, I've had the chance to understand how our work is constantly moving, with a lot going on. Sometimes communication is lost; it is important to make sure posts are clear and informative. I want to help make sure everything about this society, from events to committees, is easy to access, making it engaging for everyone to see.

I would be very excited about the opportunity to work closely with the Social Secretary and the rest of the committee to advertise events throughout next year, ensuring that all event information is kept up to date to help more people connect across different years. I would ensure that the platforms we use, Instagram and WhatsApp, are updated with information about what is going on.

I also want to make this society more visible and celebrated. I will do this by improving engagement through posts, such as a highlight project showcase and an interactive post to reflect the creativity and effort that designers have put in. I want our social media to feel inclusive and representative of everyone.

As all the people that I have met through this course are really friendly, I can't wait to meet more and give back to this wonderful society. Thank you for considering me for this role, and I hope to meet all of you at events next year.
