Hi, I'm Su a second year medical student who is applying for Sponsorship and Fundraising Officer for LAMMPs!
I have really enjoyed being part of the LAMMPs family for the last two years and can't wait for the opportunity to get more involved next year!
I have lots of ideas for fundraising projects for next year such as more charity concerts for choir potentially going into care homes and hospitals. Having been involved with the Mock OSCEs this year, I have ideas on how we can make it bigger and maybe even incorporate some teaching sessions.
I understand the importance of being able to fundraise to allow LAMMPs to run well and continue. I am also looking forward to working with the rest of the LAMMPs committee and strands to try and have as many fundraising events as possible!
In terms of sponsorship, I am looking forward to speaking to external organisations and get them involved with LAMMPs! I have experience of being secretary of other societies so will feel comfortable speaking to organisations that we want to work with.

Hey gang! I had such a wonderful time working on Our House this year and I so so loved being a part of the LAMMPS community. I'd love to be your Sponsorship & Fundraising Officer next year so I could be more involved with committee and have the opportunity to work with other strands too! I helped to run the Show Fundraiser this year, so already have some experience organising previous LAMMPS fundraisers and would love to help with organising the other fundraising throughout the year. I previously acted as MedSoc President which also involved liaising with external organisations so I feel comfortable in approaching organisations to secure sponsorship. Finally, I have intercalated in Medical Education this year and feel this would enable me to run successful MOSCEs (as well as having faced my 3rd year OSCE last year).

Here are some reasons why I think you should vote for me :)

... jokes aside lol

I've always been extremely committed to LAMMPS, ever since I joined in second year. I have always shown up to pretty much every event LAMMPS has help since I got my membership to support all members from all strands: choir concerts, dance shows, GIAGs, socials & MOSCEs (sometimes to the detriment of my own degree lol) - so I have a pretty goo idea what its all about & where I can get involved!

I have always tried to put my best effort in to helping out in any way I can, whether it be with setting up for an event/fundraiser (even on crutches!), helping out prod team with my hot glue gun, steamer and makeup skills or giving social secs advice on where to go out on tour! - even though this is quite general stuff I think its important to be able to help out in any committee role, look out for each other and build a strong team mentality.

I'm also really enthusiastic about this role, which I think is important for engaging and motivating potential sponsors, encouraging fundraising and promoting the society!

Through being president of RadSoc and welfare rep for cheerleading, being in 5 other societies, doing placement and (somehow) passing my degree (touch wood lol) I can say I know a thing or two about being organised! I think this is needed for a spon/fun so I can keep track of finances/fundraising, fundraiser/event planning and potential sponsorships! (I wrote my whole diss on a spreadsheet lol)

Finally I think I'm really creative & proactive, which is important for thinking and planning fundraisers and of course MOSCEs! Although I'm not a medic, through having attended pretty much ever MOSCE as a simulated patient (except the 4th year one) I have a pretty good idea of how they work, and can use this, as well as online resources and the help of medics in the society to plan and organise this!
