Hiya I’m Millie, and I’m running for MD!

I’m a first year English and Theatre student, and am very excited at the chance of working with LAMMPS for the first time! From starting uni I have already been in casts in SMS’s A Chorus Line, and then with MT in Beauty and the Beast and am currently the AMD for Guys and Dolls. I took two years out before uni, working full time as a teaching assistant, and also worked in a variety of roles on prod teams for a few theatre companies. My previous experiences on prod teams mixed with my current role as AMD for Guys and Dolls and also being about to MD Oklahoma! with MT next year means I’m very well-versed in what’s expected of me in the role, and I have found immense joy and excitement from working on the music side of shows!


Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is such a fabulous show for showcasing so many types of singers and gives incredible opportunities for acting through song that are often missing in many modern musicals. I am so keen to work with the prod team and cast to really showcase the extraordinarily unique characters through their songs, and to be a positive guiding presence through the fantastic music of this show.


Regarding working with a band, I’m a reed player by trade and have experience playing in orchestras, windbands and pit bands, so I have an understanding of what is expected of a band and what they need from me. Though I have only had a few smaller opportunities to conduct before, again, my experiences in a variety of ensembles means I have a basic knowledge that I am more than prepared to build on throughout the process!

Overall, I absolutely adore collaborating on prod teams, and working with everyone involved to achieve a magical, exciting show for creatives, cast, band and Backstage and the audience too!
