Treasurer 

The Treasurer of the University of Leeds Rifle Society is responsible for managing the society’s finances, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting the financial health of the society. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a commitment to the society’s financial stability.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Oversee the society’s budget, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Manage income and expenditure, keeping detailed records of all financial activities.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for the committee and society members.

Budgeting and Planning:

  • Develop and maintain an annual budget in collaboration with the Captain and Vice Captain.
  • Forecast future financial needs and plan accordingly to ensure the society’s financial stability.
  • Monitor and report on the financial performance against the budget.

Fundraising and Sponsorship:

  • Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities to support the society’s activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with sponsors and donors.
  • Organize fundraising events and initiatives.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with university financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to the university and other relevant authorities as required.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for audits and financial reviews.

Administration and Communication:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including receipts, invoices, and bank statements.
  • Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to the committee and society members.
  • Work closely with the Captain and Vice Captain to support the overall management of the society.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in financial management, accounting, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Commitment: A dedicated and proactive approach, with the willingness to commit time and effort to the role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
