General Committee
The General Committee Member of the University of Leeds Rifle Society is a versatile role designed to provide support across various functions of the society. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience in the operations of a university sports society, develop a range of skills, and contribute to the success and growth of the society.
Key Responsibilities:
Support for Committee Functions:
- Assist different committee members (Captain, Vice Captain, Treasurer, Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Social Secretary) with their tasks and responsibilities.
- Provide administrative support, including organizing meetings, taking minutes, and managing correspondence.
- Help with the planning and execution of events, training sessions, and competitions.
Member Engagement and Communication:
- Assist in communicating with members, including sending out newsletters, updates, and event invitations.
- Help manage the society’s social media accounts and website, creating engaging content and promoting activities.
- Gather feedback from members and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving member satisfaction and engagement.
Logistics and Coordination:
- Assist with logistics for events, including venue booking, transportation arrangements, and equipment management.
- Help ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and university policies.
- Support the coordination of travel for competitions and external events.
Promotional Activities:
- Assist in the creation and distribution of promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and digital content.
- Help organize and participate in outreach activities, including university fairs and open days, to attract new members.
- Support fundraising and sponsorship efforts by helping identify opportunities and preparing materials.
General Administration:
- Maintain accurate records of membership, attendance, and equipment.
- Assist with financial administration, including managing small expenditures and helping prepare budget reports.
- Support the preparation of reports and documentation for committee meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Requirements:
- Enthusiasm: A genuine interest in the activities of the University of Leeds Rifle Society and a willingness to contribute to its success.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with members and the committee effectively.
