Hey guys!
My name is Kajitha and I am going in to second year this year. I would love to nominate myself for the MUMS coordinator position. Having experienced the MUMS scheme twice in gateway and first year, I know first-hand the importance of having a support system in the early years of uni. It was amazing to be matched with parents with similar interests to me and this is an experience I wish to pass on to the future cohort.
I would like to express my willingness to address and listen to any concerns raised by my peers from both first and second year as part of the MUMS program and be their voice to the medical school.

Hi everyone, I’m Alishaba and I would like to put myself forward as one of the MUMS coordinators for MSRC in the upcoming year.

I spent first year as the year representative for Psyched and am committed to utilising the skills I have learnt and fine-tuned in order to ensure all students participating in the MUMS program feel well supported by their peers. One way I’d do this is through creating an approachable atmosphere, open to any enquiries by answering promptly to concerns. Additionally, my experience in interpersonal skills learnt by virtue of my job and organising events has imbued me with the knowledge and drive needed to succeed in this area. Hi, my name is Neha and I’m joining second year medicine in September. When I first started at Leeds I remember feeling worried about travel to uni, feeling homesick and a bunch of other concerns. I got to know my medic family through the medic MUMS scheme, we went out to dinner and we have a group chat to talk about our concerns about exams, placements etc. Alongside the smooth running of these aspects of the scheme, I am excited to organise fun and inclusive events for the year 1s next year. I hope to act as a friendly face around uni to make sure the new cohort feel comfortable integrating into the year. I also want to make sure they’re exposed to as many of the opportunities the uni has to offer as possible. Thank you :)
