Hello all, I’m Ismail Uddin, I’m currently a second year student studying BA Politics, and after two years of serving PSG, I’ll be running for presidency.

You may have seen me more prominently involved in protests & activist events, but I’ve applied for this role in particular as I’ve been involved in similar roles throughout my whole life; largely being scrutinising and working towards the betterment of communities. I’m currently an elected District Councillor for Bradford MDC, holding the title for the youngest British-Bangladeshi Councillor to be appointed, serving office until May 2026.

I believe that my experiences and traits will aid the responsibilities of this position; as I am equipped with strong skills in advocacy, negotiation and engagement with senior leadership but quite simply-

I get things done.

After serving 2 consecutive years in the Palestine Solidarity Group, I’ve picked up many things along the way. Whilst owed to a large activist community, I’ve learnt to negotiate with executive groups, maintain relations with numerous organisations irrespective of beliefs but most of all, defend my integrity and principles.

From “slamming Leeds Uni over Palestine rally investigations” (5Pillars, 2025) to defending the most vulnerable in my district (BBC, 2025), I’ve always stuck to my word and remained on the right side where possible.

By picking me, you’ll have a president with vast networks, resources and someone who will hold power to account- who will get things done.
