Hiya! I’m Aimee, a part-time English Literature MA student in my first year, and I would love to be your 2024/25 Social Media Secretary! Since joining the English Society, I have found a community of like-minded individuals. I have loved being involved in the English Society this year and am enthusiastic about the opportunity to be a part of the committee. Thank you for considering me!

Why me?
- I have previous experience as a Social Media Manager through my 2022/23 role as the Social Media and Marketing Manager at Queen Mary University of London’s Peach Magazine.
- I am proficient in graphic design software such as Canva and Photoshop.
- I have experience developing a brand and growing reach (and therefore memberships!).
- My previous role as the President of Queen Mary University of London’s 2021/22 English Society gave me insight into understanding the inner workings of a society committee.
- I’m a strong communicator.
- I am creative and have tonnes of post ideas!

Aims:
1. Accessibility
- Include alternative text on all posts.
- Ensure all post information is clearly displayed in the post and accessible in the caption to increase clarity.
2. Brand
- Maintain the English Society’s fun and aesthetic social media feed with consistent colour schemes and fonts. This will help to develop a brand identity.
- Include the logo on posts.
3. Posts
- Showcase our society’s events by creating posts thanking members for their attendance.
- Include photography from events in posts.
- Increase story posts advertising events.
- Experiment with reels.

Hi, I’m Alex! I would love to be English Society’s social secretary, as I have experience using platforms such as Instagram and Facebook to showcase my photography – from modelling outfits to landscapes for myself and friends (including some pics of a christmassy Chatsworth House for the Pride and Prejudice fans ;))
Using my skills from my hobby for the society would be amazinggg – helping to advertise and promote our events, keeping ongoing recommendations of books and being as helpful as in private messaging those with questions and queries about everything EngSoc!
