Who am I?
Hi, I'm Aleo! I am a English Lit student going into my third year. I have been the social media secretary for English Society this year (the person who doesn't stop sending reminders in the Whatsapp community). My hobbies include reading (duh), gaming, music, and crochet.

Why would I like to be president?
I would absolutely love to be president for Engsoc in 24/25 as it has been my favourite society since first year! I want to help to maintain the society as a safe place for all and help it continue to flourish next academic year.

Why me?
- My experience as a committee member this year means that I understand how Engsoc functions as a society, I know what has been successful/unsuccessful, I know how each role in the committee works and needs supporting.
- I want to encourage further inclusivity within English Society and make sure that we don't forget to consider everyone when making decisions for the society. This includes everything from having more non-alcoholic events, considering accessibility to the fullest degree, and making sure anyone of any identity feels welcomed.
- English Society has many connections to the School of English and sometimes even collaborates with it to hold events. I want to strengthen these relations using the faculty members I know within the School to create even more opportunities for Engsoc (e.g. more workshops).
- I want to ensure Engsoc supports the well-being of both its members and its committee. The stresses of university should only be alleviated by the society, never made greater.
- I am someone who thrives by being organised, so over-seeing how a society is run is perfect for me.
