Dear LAMMPS Members,

My name is Rhys Llewelyn Williams, and I am running to be your treasurer for 2025/26. After being a member of our esteemed LAMMPS Choir for 4 years, 2 years at the helm of said choir and having done my first ever LAMMPS show, this is the perfect time for me to take on a wider committee role.

So why should you elect me as your treasurer? I am an effective communicator who will easily be able to liaise between the different strands, committee members and the LUU Cash Office Team. Treasurer is also one of those jobs that require discipline and a willingness to chase people for memberships while also being mindful of financial hardships and exceptional circumstances. Both of which I feel I am more than capable of doing.

For the past few years, my summer job has been as an administrator at a holiday park which also included sales of caravans and lodges. As a result, I have experience in handling money and ensuring the accounts are kept tidy.
Having applied for my first grant to start an egg-selling business at 12 years old, I have since organised numerous fundraisers at home and in Leeds, providing me with invaluable experience for a role such as this.

My time at LAMMPS has been a highlight of my time at university and while I will not be running for Choir MD for a third term, I am not ready to leave LAMMPS and would very much appreciate the opportunity to serve the society further.
