Hey guys, I'm Daisy!

I am going into my final year of children's nursing and I'm running for dance lead, aspiring to follow in Zen's (HUGE) footsteps.

This has been my first year in LAMMPS and have genuinely loved every second of it so far! I wholeheartedly regret not being brave and joining last year 🙁 I would love to be given the chance to give back even just a fraction of what I have received from the society (and hopefully a lot more).

I have been dancing for as long as I can remember, in multiple styles and in a variation of groups, including competition teams, pantomimes and dance GCSE too! I've had experience in leading dance classes throughout both school and sixth form, and more recently helped anyone struggling with this year's choreography so they felt more confident. I know I will enjoy the challenge of choreographing dances for the strand; you'll never catch me standing still and my friends always say that I'm 'always up for a boogie'! I loved choreographing the duet for Cabaret with Anna, it was definitely a challenge, but I found the process to be very rewarding and satisfactory once completed. As Dance Lead, you can rely on my 100% commitment to ensure that choreography, lesson plans and organisation are to the best of my ability.

The friendly and inclusive nature of the society is extremely welcoming and is also an element that I hope to continue should I be elected into this position. I was injured for the dance GIAG so very awkwardly sat at the front... but my memory of feeling extremely embarrassed was truly outweighed by the friendly atmosphere of all who were there. It would also be great to promote LAMMPS dance (and the society as a whole) to the wider healthcare courses. As a nursing student, I wasn't aware that LAMMPS was a society I could join! I want to make sure that the Dance strand is a place where we can unwind from the reality of university and placement pressure and have some fun!

I've immersed myself in all LAMMPS events this year, participating in the various socials, taskmaster, and dance shows/comps and I aim to continue integrating dance with the other strands next year too. This will strengthen connections within the society which can be useful for creating bonds academically too.

Long story short, it would be a genuine honour to be given the opportunity to be Dance Lead for the 25/26 committee. It would be a position that I would be 100% committed to, ensuring that the strand is to the best standard. My priority is focused on each member, making for the smoothest experience and the utmost enjoyment for all!

Hi everyone! I’m Immy, and I’ll be going into 4th year of medical school in September. I’m currently intercalating in Neuroscience at King’s, and I’m running to be Dance Lead for next year! Having danced with LAMMPS for three years, as well as dancing with KCL Dance Soc last year, I’ve learned a lot from different choreographic styles and approaches to performance. While at King’s, I’ve had the chance to take classes in a range of styles including commercial, hip hop, ballet, jazz, and reggaeton, and I’m excited to bring that experience back to LAMMPS.
I have trained in dancing since the age of four, taking Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) grades in ballet and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) grades in both tap and modern. I’ve also had the privilege of dancing twice at the Dance World Cup, representing my dance school, the Cheshire Theatre School, in Bucharest, Romania and Jersey, placing 6th and 3rd respectively. I also took Dance GCSE as an option at school, which helped deepen my understanding of both technique and choreography.
I’ve also had the chance to choreograph within LAMMPS, including a small group number to Candy Store from Heathers for the dance show in 2024, and a duet to Livin’ La Vida Loca for the first Cabaret, which was then performed again in the dance show due to popular demand. My choreography experience goes back to school too, where I led both the Sixth Form and Year 9 dance clubs – planning sessions, teaching routines, and helping others grow in confidence and style.
Beyond dance, I’ve had experience working on committee for multiple other societies, including Psyched and Access to Medicine. These roles have strengthened my organisation, communication, and teamwork skills – all of which I’d bring with me to the role of Dance Lead.
I’m passionate about dance not only because it’s a wonderful form of exercise, but also because of its positive impact on mental health. Dance is a way to release stress, boost mood, and connect with others. As Dance Lead, I want to bring something fresh to LAMMPS – a fusion of modern and commercial styles with traditional musical theatre choreography. I believe blending these elements can create unique and dynamic routines that appeal to a wider range of dancers and audience members.
Lastly, I want LAMMPS to be a place where dancers of all abilities feel included and supported. I’m passionate about helping everyone become the most confident dancer they can be, regardless of experience. I also want to foster a strong sense of teamwork within LAMMPS, ensuring we’re all supporting each other both in and outside of rehearsals. By doing so, we can create an environment where everyone feels confident, motivated, and part of a close-knit community.
