If I was elected as events manager I would use my experience as a gig promoter to arrange lots of unique events for everyone in the society to join and get to know each other! I am qualified in safe nights out training, so can also make sure everyone is feeling happy and safe at our events. Some of the events I would plan would be more pub quizzes (let everyone's music nerd side come out), gigs showcasing all of the talent we have in this society and more film nights. In addition to these pre-existing events I would want to start listening parties, listening to new releases, but also going through some classics! I would also want to bring back the library session, as I am also a part of Leeds Student Radio, I can combine the two as well as bring in band soc. Finally, as I have been working in record shops and gigs for 4 years I strongly believe I have the knowledge to make great events with the perfect balance of geeking out to rock n roll.
