We’ve recently witnessed the resurrection of our society – an incredible feat by the 22/23 round of committee members. However, the journey does not end here. As your Secretary, I aim to work alongside next year’s Captain to build upon this year’s momentum and push our society further.

As a proactive member, I have committed myself to all that our society offers. This involvement has extended beyond the range, as I have seen first-hand the work that happens behind the scenes to run this society. I am confident that with this experience, I will manage the responsibilities of Club Secretary effectively, ensuring our society runs smoothly.

As your Secretary, I am committed to introducing the following for the 23/24 academic year:

- Increased number of opportunities to compete in local and national competitions, alongside side-by-side shooting with other university rifle clubs.
- Rifle Club kit, complete with quarter zips, ties, tracksuit trousers, and other items of clothing embroidered with university/club logo.
- Increased number of socials ranging from formal dinners and clay shoots to clubbing nights and pub meets.
- Revamped social media to promote and encourage the wider university community to give shooting a try.

With our Rifle Club being one of the oldest societies at the University of Leeds, founded in 1910, it is astonishing how the listed things above aren’t already in place. By voting for me to be our club’s Secretary, you’re voting for real, tangible improvements.
