Hello Laxers, My name is Poppy and I’m running for 💚3rd team captain💚

In true Poppy fashion, I am posting this a little bit late (but not too late) to the game but I want to begin this application with a storytime!

Back in September, I made the happy mistake of accidentally showing up with nothing but pure naivety to BUCS trials thinking it was B&D, which very luckily landed me a position on the 3’s.

And Lucy could tell you, my feature on our school team was not far off non-existent - but ever since my come back my love for lax has grown and grown again.

But oh how silly little mistakes turn into some of the best memories you have made at uni. What I’m trying to say is that as a team captain 👩‍✈️ I want to encourage more people like me to take up the sport competitively and still have fun doing it. I’m passionate about teamwork 👭, team bonding 🤝, and yapping with a side of jogging around Weetwood 3G 🏃‍♀️🗣️.

If I haven’t been convincing enough already by waffling about my accidental lacrosse career here are some other reasons why I would make the best captain ever;

- I will always LEAD the way to ⛪️popworld⛪️, got uber 🚗 premium for that very reason

- Very good at ORGANISING a pres 🍻so can transfer the same skills to ORGANISING the team.

- I am SUPPORTIVE, this can be exhibited when I was flushing Eesha’s eyes out with salt 🧂 water 💧outside Mooreside 🏏telling her she wasn’t going to be blind 👩‍🦯.

While the catalyst to my success may have been rumored to be due to being awarded 🏆most improved player🏆, (which maybe I welcomed a bit too ecstatically!), the real reason I think I have improved so much is because I have enjoyed being part of the 3s immensely, and would love to take charge and provide that same experience for old and new teammates next year.
