Hello everyone, my name is Zaid. I am an international student from Karachi studying business management with marketing and will be going into the last year of my degree. I am running for Head of Events for PakSoc. Having being raised in Karachi, I was surrounded by the vibrant culture and never-ending events, from concerts of well-known artists to massive festivals. As a result, my curiosity grew, and so did my ambition. I started joining event management teams and organised various events ranging from Model United Nations to shows starring local singers.

Without any further ado, lets move on to my manifesto:

I aim to bring interactive events for PakSoc with the essence of authentic Pakistani culture. For example, fun-filled events like a games night with Pakistani games to small-scale intimate events like a chai night where everyone socialises and gets to know each other to shisha events with board games and/or live sports.

I have a tremendous amount of experience in managing events, and I have closely observed PakSoc's events. When I attended events last year, I talked to many people about their thoughts and opinions on events and I believe I have a good idea of what events people, especially members of PakSoc, want to see next year. Additionally, I have sought guidance from the current Head of Events from PakSoc on how to organise, plan and execute events.

Furthermore, I seek to bring more big events such as qawali night and End of Year Ball. My ultimate aim is to collaborate with other societies of LUU which may include cricket games with societies like ISA and Shisha nights with ArabSoc. Although I have mentioned many of my ideas and aims, I would also love to hear what events the members of PakSoc want. To conclude, I am very keen to work and bring you guys events throughout the year but I’ll ensure that the members’ voices are heard.
