Hello, my name is Amnah and I would love to be your 4th year rep for Orthosoc!

Orthopaedics has been an interest of mine which has only been further fuelled by my time on placement. I hope to be able to collaborate with fellow committee members and also other professionals with experience in Orthopaedics. These combined will help students to network and provide opportunities to explore the field of Orthopaedics further.

I'm Hajar, and I want to be your 4th year OrthoSoc rep. This year I developed a real appreciation for orthopaedics: the precision it demands, the functional outcomes it delivers, the craft involved. I want to carry that same curiosity into this role.
I'll represent members honestly, collaborate across the committee and push for this society to be inclusive.
I also hope to bring something a little different , as someone who didn't see themselves reflected in this specialty at first, I know how much representation and fresh perspective can matter.

Hello my name is Jude Payyanad and I'm running for 4th Year Representative for Orthosoc.

My interest in Trauma & Orthopaedics has grown through both clinical exposure and academic involvement. I am currently involved in an orthopaedic audit investigating postoperative outcomes, including factors influencing whether patients require ICU admission or ward-based care following surgery. This has given me valuable insight into clinical research, data analysis, and the importance of improving patient care through evidence-based practice.

Alongside this, I will be starting a systematic review this year examining factors associated with postoperative delirium in hip fracture patients. Through these projects, I have developed a greater appreciation of the opportunities available within orthopaedics and the benefits of student involvement in research and audit work.

If elected, I hope to help more students access these opportunities by improving awareness of research projects, audits, conferences, and portfolio-building activities. I would also like to support practical teaching sessions and strengthen connections between students, trainees, and consultants within the specialty.
