Secretary

The secretary is an integral role in the Expose committee, but one more behind the scenes than many of the others. The secretary works to make sure that the other committee members can fulfil their roles effectively by helping organise rehearsals, book rooms and helping organise events (such as this election!).

It is important that you are organised and efficient in this role as other members will often ask you for deadlines and use you to help stay on track with all the many awesome things we have to organise at once! The main responsibilities are creating the timetables for all our rehearsals, applying for GIAGs to secure funding, booking rooms, recording meeting minutes and organising events such as the AGM and auditions. It sounds like a lot of responsibility, but you have the rest of committee to back you up!

You also get to help with the other more general parts of committee, such as helping choreograph the audition routine and LUU comp, representing the society at freshers fair, and being a friendly face that people in the society feel they can approach with any concerns. Especially when you are creating timetables, people will reach out with concerns about certain days and it's important they feel comfortable enough to do this otherwise you just have people not turning up!

I have loved every minute of this role and being a part of committee in general. It's a great way to make friends for life and lasting memories. If you're organised and love a little bit of control then definitely go for this role, as the society wouldn't work without it! And if you have any questions about the role in more detail, don't hesitate to reach out.

We can't wait to see what you do next year!
