Social Secretary

The Dance Exposé Social Secretary is a kind, fun and family-driven member passionate about growing the life and soul of the Exposé year through a diverse array of socials and extra-curricular activities!

They must be extremely creative - when it comes to creating themes, games, activities and prizes - the possibilities are endless! Socials need to be diverse - a combination of alcohol free and evening socials ensure there is something for everyone. They must be a good leader, confident in their decisions and resilient. However, they must also be empathetic, good listeners with the mindset of making sure every member is having the best time possible.

The Social Secretary is a friendly face for new members especially. Being a fresher can be daunting, especially when moving to a new city! This role requires someone driven by safe fun for all, inclusivity and positivity. Strive to help new members love their time at Leeds - encourage new places to go and things to do throughout the year!

Wellbeing is a huge part of the role. In partnership with HR, the Social Secretary should be a kind and supportive committee member that any dancer can come to with a problem. Socials are there to develop the special, family culture of Exposé and build lifelong friendships. We want everyone to feel welcome with activities for everyone!

The Social Secretary takes on many administrative roles - it is quite unique! It's helpful to have skills including budgeting, using Excel, event management and planning, graphic design, social media competency & strong interpersonal skills. You represent LUU in public and home settings - remain professional and approachable at all outings.

Just like all the committee roles, the Social Secretary gets to work in a team with the rest of committee to choreograph, come up with ideas for shows, events, performances, campaigns... and all aspects of society life! Running Dance Exposé is team-driven... and you will make 6 new besties!

The role of Social Secretary on the committee of Dance Exposé is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you will treasure forever. The sense of pride and achievement felt in knowing you have helped students to make new friendships and find a society where they belong, is so rewarding and special. Not to mention - Social Secretary is so FUN!
