About me and my Experiences:
I was born and raised in Türkiye and travelled to many places, and would love to share my unforgettable experiences with you guys sometime! I have lived in the UK since 2012, I am an International Business Student at the University of Leeds. I completed a Digital Marketing Bootcamp, and am experienced in Traditional Dancing. I believe I am a very approachable and organised person.
My Goals as the Secretary of the Turkic Society:
I am eager to facilitate collaborations with other Turkish Societies at other universities. With a background in traditional dance, I plan to volunteer to lead Halay classes, and other activities bringing our rich cultural heritage to life, and other people. I will be committed to creating a welcoming atmosphere for Turkic members from different backgrounds. Hii there! My name is Elay Aflatouni, and I’m a second-year law student going in my third year. I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but I’m half Azerbaijani and Persian. I’m super excited to run for the role of secretary for Turkic Society 24/25. As secretary, I will effortlessly manage correspondence, essential documents, organise meetings, and help ensure communication while promoting fun cultural activities.

I’m looking forward to this position on the committee next year and meeting everyone!
