Hi everyone! My name is Claire and I would love to be your welfare secretary 😊.

I am a 2nd year maths student who joined street this year and I can’t emphasise how much I have enjoyed being part of such a loving, supportive and talented community. As someone who felt too shy to come to classes as a fresher, I know how daunting it can feel to get started in a society where you don’t know anybody. LUU Street has helped me grow in confidence, both inside and outside the studio, and I hope to help foster that same welcoming atmosphere for others.

I want to be a friendly face and someone you can turn to if you need support or just a chat. I’ll continue Wellbeing Wednesdays to share useful tips and resources. I also want to start new initiatives, like organising more sober socials that everyone can feel comfortable attending. I’d love to hear your input throughout the year through LUU Street’s instagram, and I will try my best to offer the most requested activities :)

I am so grateful that street dance classes have given me a space to show up, make mistakes, destress and feel safe every week. I hope that as part of this society I can help even more people feel this way!
