Hey guys it’s Trin & I’m so excited to be running to be your next Vice President!!

As VP my top priority will be to support committee in there tasks and make all their lives easier as best as I can. I’ll also prioritise being a helping hand for all of you guys whether it be at classes or socials and will actively encourage and incorporate your feedback to help Street dance reach its fullest potential!!

I’m certain I’ll be great for the role given my creative, passionate and hardworking nature. I’ve also already gained a tonne of experience on LUU Street Committee as Treasurer 2023/24. I was extremely dedicated to every aspect of the role, going above and beyond to deliver new events/ideas such as, organising our first ever competition STAY OVER WEEKEND and putting together street’s first annual DANCE SHOWCASE!! I look forward to keeping up traditions like these and introducing new ones. During my time as treasurer I had the chance to master my teamwork, problem solving and leadership skills which I’m ready to extend to a new role.

I’m dedicated to keeping up our winning standard and I can’t wait for the next competition season🏆🏅. I'm ready to start bringing the teams vision together and there’s no doubt I’ll be the first one there to cheer everyone on!
You can count on me to help lead and be at all the classes PLUS I think I can safely say, since I joined street in 2022, I’ve never missed more than a single rehearsal! If you want a VP who’s always going to show up then VOTE Trin!

I understand COMP SZN can be very intense and I promise I’ll always aim to bring an optimistic energy and ofc bring some amusement to lighten up the mood. For a lot of us dance is the one of the main spaces we can relax and take a break from everyday uni stress, so I will focus on collaborating with the Welfare & Social Secs to provide as many events for us to engage, chill and socialise in an inclusive environment.

I’m so excited for us to get more performance opportunities next year (particularly maybe our first ever varsity!!!) and I’m already thinking up ideas for our BEST YEAR YET!

Why do I want to join committee?

As this year’s comp rep (alongside the lovely Harriette), I have gained so much insight into the behind the scenes of LUU Street and loved every second of being on committee! This year (my final year😢) I want to push myself and go for vice, as I’ve seen how amazing our previous Pres and Vices have done and would love to carry on their impressive rein. Committee this year has been so so rewarding and the friendships I’ve made are ones I hope to keep for a lifetime (love u 2024/5 committee❤️) As this will be my 4th and final year on street , I want to give my everything into making it one of great memories , continuing and creating friendships , building our street empire and continuing to travel the country collecting trophies🏆 LUU Street has made my uni experience so far and I can’t wait for another year , this time as vice 🤞

What would I bring as vice?

My approach to vice is one of collaboration, as I believe there in no hierarchy within a society, and everyone’s say should be heard. There is nothing I love more than dance and the friendships I have made through street, therefore as vice I will encourage a positive, supportive community in which everyone feels welcome and accepted. I aim to encourage individuality, by pushing our dancers to embrace their own style as well as taking on new styles to better ourselves as dancers. As vice I would make an effort to communicate regularly with our dancers, giving and taking on any advice and hearing your guys’ opinions and thoughts. I want to make sure you all have a voice and feel heard throughout the year.

I have an abundance of experience at LUU street, being a member, an inter, dancing on advanced and then becoming a member of committee, dancing on every team since 2022 (hashtag last man standing). These last few years have meant I have experiences from every angle of the society and understand everyone’s needs and unique experiences. I am a committed individual and have dedicated my uni experience so far to street and will continue to do so. I will heavily support our president throughout the year as well as the rest of our committee, picking up what’s necessary and using my experience on street to guide and encourage others. My previous experience as a dancer, training in many styles means I am happy to choreograph , teach and put forward new ideas to contribute to teams.

As vice, I have plenty of new ideas for our society I cannot wait to implement, such as a potential new commercial team (ahhhhhhh!), more performance opportunities for all members of street not just comp teams and finding a comp mascot! I know comp days are LONG as we are usually at the end, so I aim to look into introducing more entries, for example solos, duos, trios, small group at Intercomp and a new team at big comps, to ensure a more fun and interactive comp season for you all!. I want to make sure we stay true to the community vibe that has made Street such a special part of my university experience. Whether you’re on a comp team or just dancing for fun, I’m committed to creating more opportunities for everyone to get involved, connect, and enjoy the dance family we’ve built together. I want to ensure ALL members get the chance to perform at showcases and will bring plenty of new choreographers for Monday classes for those who dance for a bit of fun! In terms of comp teams, I will work alongside vice and comp reps to create incredible new themes and choreography and ensure the smooth running of rehearsals, showcases and competitions. I am a friendly, confident person who you can rely on to achieve this and would love to make a positive contribution to the committee through pushing for new and innovative ideas. Working with committee, I will continue to push the boundaries and not be afraid to experiment with styles and concepts (this year we was creepy clowns, soldiers and jazz musicians so) . I am also hoping to make the street awards (organised this year by me) an annual event, to show our love and appreciation for all our dancers.

Finally, a message to future committee – I cannot wait to see who you are and work alongside you!

Hi everyone ! 💛🖤 I’m Jove and I am running to be your vice president for the 25/26 academic year. I am currently in my 3rd year, and would love to give back to this incredible society, which has given me so much.

I have missed LUUStreet immensely this year, and seeing the achievements of this year’s committee and the amazing competition teams has motivated me to put myself forward for next year’s committee, in hopes that I can contribute to the legacy they have carried forward.

Admittedly, I know that I’m at a #slight (LOL) disadvantage since a number (almost all) of you don’t know me. But I hope my statement and poster have given you an idea of who I am and what I aim to bring to LUUStreet as your vice-prezzie if I’m elected. #pleek
