I am a 2nd year Music student and I have been riding for most of my life. I started lessons with the society this year and have thoroughly enjoyed being back riding. As events organiser my aim would be to make sure that the two GIAGs run as smoothly as possible and that we can welcome lots of new members from this. I would also love to run in conjunction with social sec a couple of fun days or gymkhana type events for both teams and lessons riders as well as a competition for the lessons riders at the end of the year. For the past year I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of one of the development teams in the society. During this time, I have helped at both team home competitions as well as at the GIAG, giving me a great understanding of how best to organise these sorts of events and similar, to ensure everyone enjoys their day and we gain lots of new society members. I’d also really enjoy organising a Christmas and/or Easter games for both teams and lessons riders, in addition to giving the opportunity for lessons riders to take part in their own fun, no-pressure competition, catering to all abilities. I’d also aim to work with the Fundraising Coordinator to help organise fundraising events to benefit all members of the society!
