Hello, my name is Marvelous Chinaecherem Ogochukwu. I am a Nigerian. I am a second-year economics student. However, I hope to major in developmental economics during my master's degree, this is because of my passion for the development of developing countries. My hobbies are playing volleyball, cooking and listening to various music. I also love reading both academic and motivational books, so I can say I am a bookworm. I have held various leadership positions during my education years. From being a prefect in my high school and a secretary for the young entrepreneur club back in Nigeria. I was also a student ambassador in my foundation year. I have developed strong Leadership skills during the period I held this position. I have good organisation and management skills. My greatest strength is having a great team working and communication skills which are vital to enable me to work with the other committee members for good performance during our tenure. I have volunteered for various charity events. In 2019, I partook in an event that raised 5,000 pounds for an orphanage home. Also, I volunteered as a sports coach for young children for a year. I have always loved to make a difference in any position I am given and believe that I will be able to strive to achieve great success if I am given the opportunity to serve as the secretary of this society.

I have been a member of the Economics Society for two years now and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience thus far. I believe that an individual in a secretary role should be organised, effective at communication and efficient with time management - all of which fall into my skill set. I enjoy working in a team and, if nominated, look forward to working with the committee to ensure a smooth running of operations. Thank you! :)

I am Kabir Chadha; a second year Economics & Finance student at the Business School. I'm originally from Delhi, but I have lived in Dubai for 14 years. My interests include Basketball, Cricket, Music and Spiritual Reading. 
Being a fresher in the midst of a global pandemic initially left me worried about how uneventful and socially distanced my 'FRESHER YEAR' was going to be, but Econ Society changed that for me. Thanks to their Virtual Events; I had the opportunity to interact with other Econ students. Moreover, during my second year I attended various social events, where I realised the importance of buildings networks and connecting with people.

The role of a Secretary primarily involves assisting the preisdent in making the major decisions of the Society and communicating with external parties on behalf of the society. I can proudly say that in the last two years I have actively engaged my self in activities and picked up skills that would make me qualified for this role. The Relevant Experience I hold is as follows:
* Treasurer at Leeds Indian Student Association
* Private Banking Summer Intern at Mashreq Bank
* Financial Analyst at Leeds Finsights
* Private Equity North Edge Challenge (Buy Out Project)
* Volunteer in promotions team at Children's International Film Festival (Dubai).

The various experiences mentioned above has not only helped me boost my confidence but has also enhanced my Interpersonal, Communication and Negotiation Skills, which would make me the ideal Secretary of this Society. 
 
On the whole, if i get the opportunity to be the Treasurer of this society, I pledge on putting in my best efforts along with the rest of the committee and bringing forward to you insightful events.
