Male Sports Secretary

My name is Daren Eduardo Naiene, I am a second-year Economics and Finance student. I understand the importance that sport has on our physical and mental health since taking part in sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, and badminton throughout my life. I have greatly enjoyed attending sports sessions from the Economics Society, so my goal as a Male Sports Secretary is to give members a break from their studies by organising lots of welcoming and fun events and matches where they get the opportunity to make friends from the same course or with people with the same interest. I am also keen to listen to different ideas from committees and society members about potential sections that we could organise. I have previously volunteered at Bookmark Reading Charity and played volleyball as well as basketball for my high school, which strengthened my interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. I firmly believe that all members of EconSoc will get the opportunity to engage and network with people from different backgrounds with similar interests and further enrich their campus life.

Hi, my name is Joe Assaad. I will keep this short and sweet. I am a 2nd year BSc Economics student I have been going to the 5-a-side football with the EconSoc since my first year and it has been really good, I'd love to organise and run it next year. I love football and I will ensure it runs smoothly. I would love to try and start an 11-a-side team if there is a demand for it. I'm also happy and willing to listen to any other ideas to implement.
