Assist the President in the general running of the society! Your tasks will be split between President and Vice-President, so the role changes year-to-year depending on what you would each rather do, but tasks include:
- Liasing with teachers
- Organising studios and timetables
- Organising freshers events and creating the promo video/materials
- Hiring new teachers when necessary including conducting interviews
- Applying for awards
- Fixing any issues from members and committee that crop up
- Helping out any other committee member with their role when they're struggling
- Making sure all tasks get done by committee, and chasing up anything that isn't done
- Be a friendly face that all society members feel happy to talk to!
You will need to have the following skills:
- ORGANISATION! This is the most important one, as you'll have to work hard to stay on top of everything as well as your uni work - but it's definitely possible with good organisation.
- Good communication skills. This role involves talking to lots of different people from different backgrounds, from teachers, to owners of external studios, to other societies, to our members of course!
- Good problem solving skills. It's really useful to be able to think on your feet to solve an issue as it happens.
- Task management. Prioritisation of important tasks is essential to make sure everything gets done in time.
