After a year with JABS, I've come to feel very at home in this society and have decided it's about time that I took on a more active role in its management.

As a maths student, I'm no stranger to keeping track of numbers. Treasurer seemed like the natural choice as a result. Another large factor in opting for treasurer is playing one of the few instruments reliant on being supplied by the society itself. Any drummer who's shown up to rehearsals over the past year would agree that the setup we're working with, though not bad, is far from optimal. It would be great to have a say in any new equipment purchases (e.g. a throne and sturdier cymbal stands).

In terms of what direction I'd like to see the society take, I think it would be interesting to introduce more arrangements that incorporate vocal harmony. With so many singers in JABS, people often only get a chance to take part in perhaps one song per rehearsal. If we invested in more microphones, hopefully it could allow vocalists to get more out of JABS.
