Hi! My name is Niamh and I am from a small town in North Wales. I am the first in my family to go to university and I have worked very hard to get here, I'm no stranger to failure which has only made me more determined to achieve my goals. I recognise that the gateway year has been a lifeline to many, including myself, in giving us the opportunity to study medicine and I would love to be someone who has an active role in ensuring this year gives us the best start in our medical careers. I created and led a medics society in my sixth form to create a support network for years 12 and 13 who were going through the grueling application process as this support was not available for me when I was in year 12 and was also a part of the student council in my high school, during which time I led a campaign raising awareness for the rights we had as minors. I believe students are the medical school's greatest asset and our voices can help shape and improve the experience for all. I would be grateful to be given the opportunity to advocate for the cohort's needs and I only hope to make you all proud to call me one of your gateway reps, lots of love Niamh 3

Assalamoalaykum! My name is Noor. I'd love the opportunity to be Gateway rep this year and have the privilage to represent your voices. I know most of you guys have the attention span of a goldfish thanks to TikTok, so I'm going to keep this short rather than presenting a laundry list of the qualities I possess. Firstly, I studied Biology, Chemistry and Mathmatics at Greenhead College in a small town called Huddersfield or more famously known as "Uddesfield". I enjoy expressing my intrests through creative catering and bridal henna aswell as being actively involved in my backgarden badminton leauge... Previously, I've been involved in many leadership roles and voluntary work with the British Heart Foundation and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, therefore, I understand the responsibilty that's tied with this position and believe I am competent to pursue it. Although my big friendly smile is hidden behind my niqab (see profile photo), I promise I'm an approachable indivdual and hope I can serve your best interests. Thankyou for your time!

Hey guys, I'm Sam. I come from London which is around 4 hours by car from here (depending on how merciful the city traffic is). I was a volunteer at Chelsea and Westminster hospital during my gap year, and I am also one of the carers of my disabled father, so I have some experience in communicating with patients and healthcare workers. Ultimately, my studies and hard work have led me to pursue medicine at the University of Leeds, like the rest of you.

I am grateful for this position given by the MSRC as it allows not only medical students to be heard, but for us studying in gateway to also put forward our ideas, where in other Universities this may not be the case. I believe I am able to be entrusted with this position as I will wholeheartedly put forth issues and concerns brought about by you to the MSRC, with the intent that this will result in the utmost of benefit to not only you and the rest of the current cohort of gateway students, but the doctors that you will hopefully become. I welcome all comments and feedback with open arms, as I believe your voices must be heard.

Hi guys, I have had work experience at Hexham hospital and I have also done volunteering at care homes. I will work with the team to address any problems we may be facing and give appropriate feedback where its due, positive and negative. I will take all advice on board and actively work with fellow students, so we can all have the best possible time and reach our potential this year.
