The welfare secretaries are here to help ensure the society is a safe and inclusive place for all. Their primary role is to offer support and be a method for members to voice any issues they face during their time in SWP and to offer support on any of these issues. Other roles that are important for welfare secretaries are assisting the social secretaries to ensure that socials cater for all members, and to help organise some sober socials throughout the year for those that do not drink for whatever reason they may have. These socials could include bowling, going to gym classes, laser quest, etc. Welfare secretaries will also join the President in many formal meetings regarding any welfare issues that may have arisen in the society.  

The role requires the secretary to get the club involved with charity related events. This may include a charity naked calendar or any other innovative new events/socials that may be introduced to the club. In past years we have done the Race2Porec and Yorkshire 3 peaks which have raised lots of money for charities! The role includes assisting exec with the planning of these events and making sure everyone knows how to get involved and where to donate if they would like too!
