Hi! I'm running for Treasurer this year!

I’ve loved being a part of Doss AC for the past two years, and as Events Sec for the past year, I’d now like to take my role on committee one step further and join the exec committee as Treasurer!

What I’d do as Treasurer:
• budget club money so we are able to subsidise events & trips more – e.g. continue to heavily subsidise BUCS so we'll have even BIGGER turnouts at races
• work with the union to ensure we get sufficient funding, and work with other committee members to ensure things such as GIAG is advertised well, and people fill out a form of attendance afterwards, so we get more club funding
• will make sure the club isn't overspending in any areas - e.g. get good deals with coach hire
• will continue to provide free yoga sessions
• will collab with Social Secs to hopefully get bar tabs at some socials
• a XC paddling pool may be included in the budget for next year…

Why I’d make a great Treasurer:
• I will continue to bring success to Doss like I did at the Isle of Man football match!
• STEM student so I love a good spreadsheet!
• Organised – had to be organised when planning events such as Leeds relays and Christie Cup, and I will continue to be an organised Treasurer!
• Experience on committee as Events Sec, so I know what is involved in planning the events so know what the club needs to spend money on for them to go ahead
• Will prioritise Doss over my degree – promise to keep more up to date with club accounts than my lectures!


Overall, I'm dedicated to Doss, so I have your best interests at heart for where the club money goes! I want to give back to the club by being on the exec committee and I hope you vote for me for Treasurer!

Don’t call it a comeback but I am pleased to announce that the Lord is returning – I’m Tom Rehal and I’d like to be your treasurer for the next year.

Some of you will remember me from the last two years and I can’t wait to meet the (numerous) new members that’ve joined this year, I have been following your DOSSing and can’t wait to be back next year!

Until this year I was an active DOSSER and the Cross-Country Club was an integral part of my Leeds experience and remains close to my heart, despite running for another team this year on my year abroad there has been a beer racing shaped hole in my life that needs filling.

In terms of qualifications for the job at hand, I study Geophysics and have the maths & organizational skills required, as well as being a dedicated and hard worker. I am also a coaching scholar this year and would like to get as involved as possible in the club for my final year.

Overall, I plan on making sure we can continue to host high-calibre events & socials and my main policy is to continue to beat Alehouse in running and (more importantly) beer racing. In terms of finances the main goal is to continue to support the club and make sure we can continue to be the best society and increase growth whilst charging a reasonable membership fee.

Hi, I’m Louisa and I’m running to be Treasurer. Having become much more involved in XC in my third year at university, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know such a lovely bunch of people while doing a sport I love, so much so that I’ve decided to stay in Leeds for a master’s degree purely to have another year of participating in the whole spectrum of Doss shenanigans. While I may not be the best runner, I can assure you that my skills in finance are equivalent to my beer racing skills - top-tier! Who would you trust more with the money than someone studying economics? (Although Rishi Sunak studied economics at Oxford and I’m not sure we can trust him…). In my second year of university, I was Treasurer for the Politics Society so already have experience managing a society’s bank account and applying for funding from LUU to ensure that we can continue to subsidise BUCS. I also have experience of working on other committees to arrange events, such as the Women in Leadership Society’s Empower Conference, so will be able to coordinate with others on the Cross Country committee to help with organisation. I am keen to work with others in the Executive and wider committee to ensure that everyone’s brilliant ideas are financially feasible and can be successfully executed. This includes the Gebate partnership’s Doss Journal and potentially a separate Beer Racing Bank Account to ensure we always have the funds to beat Alehouse and don’t get shafted by having to down anything other than John Smiths!
