💚🤍 Vote Halima for PakSoc Charity Officer 🤍💚

Hi everyone! I’m Halima, a first-year Financial Mathematics student, PakSoc member and former Women’s Officer and I’m so excited to be running for Charity Officer for Leeds PakSoc 26/27 ✨

I’ve loved being part of PakSoc this year from the Ramadan Iftar and Chai Night to Girls Night and Bowling & Dessert Night. These events showed me how special PakSoc’s community is and I’d love to help use that same energy to support meaningful charity work.

As Women’s Officer on my sixth-form student executive, I helped organise and host fundraising and awareness events for causes including mental health, hijab/alopecia awareness and Palestine/Gaza. This taught me how to plan sensitively, encourage student engagement, communicate clearly and confidently advocate for causes that matter even when ideas faced resistance.

As Charity Officer, I would be committed to supporting PakSoc’s dedicated Lebanon charity campaign through fundraising, awareness and creative community-led events. I’d love to help organise initiatives such as bake sales, charity socials, donation drives, raffles and collaborations with societies like PSG, ISoc and BSoc making charity work feel accessible, inclusive and impactful.

My aim would be to bring together culture, community and compassion making sure PakSoc’s charity work is not only well-organised but genuinely meaningful. I’d also want to keep students updated on the causes we support where donations go and the impact we’re helping to create.
