As a dedicated student pursuing a career in Mechanical Engineering, I understand the importance of responsibility and commitment; qualities I bring to every aspect of my life, including my academic pursuits.

In addition to my studies, I have served as a reliable student representative, ensuring that the voices of my peers are heard and their needs addressed effectively. My track record speaks volumes – I am someone who doesn't just promise results but consistently delivers.

Moreover, my leadership experience extends back to my time as the Head of the School Council during my secondary school years. This role equipped me with invaluable skills in organization, communication, and teamwork, which I continue to apply in all my endeavors.

Hi Everyone!

My name is Fortune. I am an International History and Politics student originally from Bristol. Starting out in a new city without knowing anyone I know how lonely university can be sometimes. My goal as ACS President will be to make the society a safe space where we can enjoy, and make the most of university life whilst reaping help and support on our career and self-development journeys.

If I gain the role of being your ACS President I understand the importance of Vision overseeing the running of the society. My vision for the ACS can be summarised in three words/letters :

I have a strong passion for empowering the black community. Ensuring we foster a great sense of community in the society will be my main goal when organising and overseeing the running of the Society. I will do this by ensuring events are inclusive and accessible to all members of the society.

*Enjoyment*

As we all know - University can be stressful. I want the ACS to be a place where we can step back and relax. We may not be in the Midlands but I will try my best to make sure we put the 'Uni' in university through a wider range of affordable, enjoyable events.

*Opportunities*

This will be one of my priorities if I do become president. During my term as president, I will aim to make the ACS more focused on excelling so we can all strive towards our individual life goals and make progress in our career paths. I will make the platform a place that supports all members of the ACS community by providing opportunities for:

-Personal and Career Growth

-To get involved in society/community (I.e. events)

-Improving Wellbeing

And these are just a few ideas.

I understand the weight and demands of this position. What makes me equipped for this role is my hands-on experience in the workplace. As a Research Assistant for a public body of the Government (Public body), I completed a large-scale funded project within the timescale of 3 months. This has taught me many skills from project and time management to collaboration with other people. I have also worked for the NHS as a Health Care Assistant full time, working beside healthcare professionals so I understand the importance of communication and more technical obligations such as code of conduct, risk assessments and information management.

Overall, being an active member of the ACS from attending the HSBC Careers Event, meeting lovely people, to even taking part on the panel on Take Me Out has enriched my university life so far and my sole purpose in being President will be to provide a great experience for others.

My name is Renee I am a first year medical student and I'm thrilled to be running for the position of President of the ACS Committee. I bring with me a diverse range of leadership experiences, having previously served as Head Girl and played an active role in the Student Council. These experiences have equipped me with the skills necessary to navigate differing opinions and foster consensus, ultimately driving progress and positive change.

I fully understand the significance of the duties required of the President, including organizing and overseeing the operations of the Club/Society, chairing vital meetings such as Committee Meetings, AGMs, and EGMs, and ensuring the production of an informative annual report. I am committed to upholding and improving upon the high standards set by previous ACS committees, with a focus on enhancing the experience of all students involved.

Transparency and communication are of utmost importance to me. I am dedicated to ensuring that all members are well-informed and engaged in decision-making processes. This includes adhering to codes of conduct, risk assessments, and LUU safeguarding policies, as well as maintaining an up-to-date entry in the Club/Society's LUU webpage.

I am deeply committed to upholding and improving upon the standards set by previous ACS committees.
