Hey! My name is Andrea Perera (but I go by Senali) and hopefully I will be able to join the film society committee for the rest of this year.
I am a second-year Architecture student and I have a love for film that will hopefully help me integrate well into the committee to help to maintain and improve the current society.
Attending the screenings and socials have been amazing and I would love to be a part of the committee that helps to make it happen.
My film taste ranges from classic rom-coms to action and dramas. One of my favourite genres of film, however, are films based on real life events and I definitely am guilty of crying to some.
Like in my poster, I have a few ideas that could be implemented into the society and another suggestion would be to have occasional screenings at Hyde Park Picture House, we have this historic, gas lit cinema so close and if possible, a screening in the picture house could be a fun addition.

Hey! I'm Mia, a second-year film studies student who would love the opportunity to be an additional member to the already-fabulous FilmSoc committee.

Film is my absolute favourite thing in the world... I love to watch them, talk about them, and share my love for them with others, and I especially love our community of fellow film-lovers here in Leeds.

I believe that I would be a great addition to the committee not only because of my love for film and my dedication to the film community, but I am highly
organised and will use my passion to provide the best experience for members so everyone gets the most out of our amazing society!

Hi! I’m Esme and I’m running for General Committee for the rest of this year. I’ll try not to bore you with a long winded paragraph, I know we’re all team films against books, so here’s some quick facts about me:
- I’m a second year sociology student
- I got into film through Friday night Harry Potter marathons, my brother insisted on each week (please don’t ask me to recite any of the script, I will do it but it will be deeply humiliating for us both.)
- My letterboxd top 4 is Stardust, Se7en, The Goonies, and The Princess Bride
- Stardust is the best film ever made, I live and breathe Stardust, almost always listening to Rule The World, Claire Danes you own my heart…..not that i'm weird about it or anything though.
- I’m taking a discovery module in film this term because I hoped to mature my taste in movies, happy to report it has remained as trashy as ever and I will continue to rewatch Wild Child
- I love Pink Floyd and Radiohead, running, playing guitar, and going to the hyde park picture house with my best friend Talia (though you may know her as paddington bear)

I'm a devoted FilmSoc member and have been going almost every week since the start of university. I'm eager to be involved with the events and screenings of FilmSoc in general committee next year so being involved this year is super important to me. I co-host the Frame By Frame podcast which have had a special guest episode with current president Cerys and a crossover episode with FilmSoc where we completed a film draft. Id love to incorporate FilmSoc into the podcast even more in the future and create events with album review society. I have some fantastic ideas for films to show from more David Lynch to Takeshi Kitano and full of ideas of things we can do with it.

I have been an avid member of film society since I first joined Leeds last year due to my passion and love for films. I believe that it is this passion that drives me to run for a committee role as I would hopefully be able to help manage the rapidly growing society and, along with the other committee members, make it a better society in the long run. I believe that I would be a good suit for the role of committee member as I have spent much of second year hosting a film podcast (Frame by Frame) with my co-hosts Matthew Dollman, Alfie Langford, and Isabelle Gillard.
