Hi everyone! After completing my second year on council as treasurer, I hope that I can continue contributing to student representation within medicine as your vice-president. My priorities would be to ensure consistent transparent communication with all organisations that are overseen by MSRC and to be a reliable representative that you can count on at all times.

I also have other previous experience from my undergraduate degree that I completed before if you are interested in learning more:

Microbiology and Immunology Students’ Association (2019-2022)
FIRST-YEAR REP where I secured two sponsorships within my first term and assisted in planning events.
PRESIDENT where I advocated for positive changes in the delivery of online courses within the program, challenged successfully unfair testing practices at the level of the Faculty of Science, built a new website for the association, etc. We were also selected as runner-ups in the following two categories for the Faculty of Science: Best Council and Best President.
VP SUSTAINABILITY organized fundraisers and laid the groundwork for a greener research laboratory proposal.

Science Undergraduate Society (2021-2022) representing all 5,000 science undergrad students,
VP ACADEMIC where I advocated for student rights at the Faculty and Senate level of our university, addressed academic grievances from students in all departments, organised the annual Graduate & Professional Fair which is attended by 5,000 students every year, created comprehensive academic infographics (since our academic regulations were a bit of a mess and hard to understand), re-negotiated the association’s contract of understanding with the university admin, etc.

FOUNDER AND MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS where I co-authored the association’s constitution, memorandum of agreement with the University, onboarded departmental societies, engaged in consultations with the Dean of the School of Biomedical Sciences, and obtained legal recognition as a charitable organization.

Hi everyone!

My name is Henry, and I would consider it a privilege to represent your voice as Vice-President of the MSRC next year. I am motivated to work alongside my fellow committee members to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages student representatives to champion the needs of their peers.

As a second-year MSRC representative this year, I have taken responsibility for leading the medical school merchandise sales. This has required close communication with members of the executive committee, which has provided me with the experience needed to work successfully with the merchandise coordinators next year. I aim to deliver new and updated merchandise for both the MSRC committee and the wider medical school.

I have previously worked with staff and students as a Senior Prefect in Sixth Form, taking an active role in implementing a daily mentorship scheme and school development plan. This experience will allow me to confidently lead the MSRC when the President is unavailable, and work with the Medical Faculty staff to execute positive changes for students.

I have also helped shape potential future improvements for students as one of the MSRC assessment representatives this year, collecting feedback which should hopefully lead to a more in-depth assessment breakdown for students in pre-clinical years. Therefore, you can be confident I will act upon suggestions made by committee members and their peers next year.

Finally, I have thoroughly enjoyed attending this year’s MSRC laser tag and Christmas dinner, and would be excited to introduce a new social event next year.
