Hey everyone! I’m excited to be running again for the EDI Officer position – I gave it a shot last year and, while I didn’t get it, I’m back and more motivated! I’m passionate about making med school a place where everyone feels supported, seen, and valued. Whether it’s through pushing for inclusive policies, supporting minority students, or working on projects. I’m ready to get stuck in and make real change. I’d love the chance to represent your voices and continue building a community where equity and inclusion aren’t just buzzwords – they’re a reality.

Hi I am Meiyan and I would like to nominate myself for EDI rep. As a queer, Plus Programme student with a disability I am extremely passionate about equality, diversity and inclusivity in not only medical education but healthcare as a whole. I am extremely passionate about the EDI projects I would get to work on as a rep, especially the Trans Inclusion Module given what is currently happening in the UK at the moment. I firmly believe all students should feel safe and protected in their academic environment and most importantly that they belong. If I am elected I would love to lend my voice to these crucial discussions and maybe expand MSRC's work to lend more support and advocacy for all the medical students who deal with disabilities. I am hardworking, dedicated and I value good quality detailed work and contribution, which is what I will be bringing to the table as a rep. I would love the opportunity to work in a team to advocate for our student body and truly hope you will give me the chance to do so as your EDI rep.
