🕺🏻🪩YASMINE FOR SOCIAL SEC🪩🕺🏻
I knew from my very first shoey 👟🥾👞that I wanted to run for social sec
After my second bottle 🍷🍷 of wine chugged I could see the dream
and when ketchup and flour were thrown at me, I knew it was my destiny 😎😎😎
I have been playing lacrosse since age 11 and partied since age 3, so I know I was born for this role. Popworld is my middle name and being social sec is my aim.
I’m in my first year, studying fashion design innovation and take pride in the fact I’ve used my degree to put together some truly questionable costumes this year. I hope you all liked my debut as social sec at freshers revenge because that was just a snippet of what I’m capable of.
Over the last year, I have been taught invaluable lessons; Mischief code release is life or death, don’t mess with vodka tampons, Frosty Jacks cider will go in and come out on the floor🤢🤮, Popworld boy’s loos to miss the queue, Rodger Stevens pond is full of duck poo and my lacrosse girls are for life❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕.
Leeds Lacrosse has been fundamental in my university life, my best memories have been surrounded by you all and tend to be in the presence of face paint and sours. I tend to go home and share wild and feral stories resulting in the Leeds lax socials becoming rather infamous. Trust me girls, Durham has nothing on Leeds.
Why I would be a fabulous amazing incredible fantastic awesome social sec.
L🥍 ove meeting new people and I’m really approachable, I could chit chat for hours and I live for a good dramatic speech (so get me on that mega phone 💪🏻)
A🥍 ctually have never stepped foot in Walkabouts because I am devoted to lacrosse and it’s socials. So devoted that I’ve spent days writing this instead of doing my silly coursework.
X🥍cellent experience in organising parties/socials. (Don’t laugh) but during lockdown I had a children’s party business (#female entrepreneur #strongindependentwoman #thisgirlcan #bosswomen #fuckthepatriavhy #moneymoves🤑🤑). So I have experience with crazy dancing, dress up and stumbling girls (whether it’s from sugar overload or tequila). Contrary to popular belief a party of 10 year olds is as feral as freshers. Maybe even more.
My aim as social sec would to make sure to get everyone involved. I want it to be as fun for you all as it is for the freshers but don’t stress you will not be chugging and vomming, we will leave that to the silly freshers. As a fresh2death rep I am also able to send over those cheeky codes, helpful to keep us lacrosse girls in the social scene for a cheaper price.
I would also like to make a stronger connection with men’s lax with socials rollovers and trips. I want to shock them all because I know the men cannot keep up with us girls. having more socials with them will ensure more friendships in and out of bed. 😉😉
Reading everyone’s candidate mesaages have made me so proud to be standing beside such amazing people and I know whoever gets picked for each role will absolutely smash it.
The idea that a whole new set of freshers get to experience this makes me really quite jealous, and whether our new arrivals have never picked up a stick or are Olympic players I want to get everyone involved. I have lived loved lax through every chunder and aggressive tackle from Beckett and it would be my honour to hold that neon green bottle of sours in popworld for you all. 💚💚
live love lax.

ROSIE AND LUCY FOR SOCIAL SECS
Hello ladies! I’m Rosie and I would love to be your new social sec along with my partner in crime and England lacrosse legend, Lucy Evans❤️. I can confidently say we are two of the most committed members when it comes to both playing and socials. When we’re not at a social, we’re reminiscing about our previous escapades or devising a game plan for the next one. Our 5hr long Thursday debriefs come with a feeling of intense sorrow that we have to wait another 6 days to do it all again. Is that sad? Yes. Undoubtedly so. But lacrosse is love; lacrosse is life.🥍💪
We’ve got plenty of great social ideas for making Wednesdays the best night of the week for both silly little freshers and our elderly senior citizens👶👵. Yes, we’re not forgetting you seniors to be! We will ensure socials are still fun and engaging for our milfs and gilfs, though merciless bullying will be kept to a minimum for you, there will still be plenty of challenges and sexy outfits…💋
My love of lacrosse boys is no secret and we aim to spread the love and unite the clubs through many more mixed socials and rollovers. I hope the boys are prepared to be proved inferior on both the pitch and the pints.🥍🍺 Did someone say cupid with a roll of duct tape…?😏💘 We’ve witnessed a HUGHge amount of laxcest this year, and it’s only the beginning. Get ready for a whole new generation we will be sure to expose through lacrossip girl🫢😈
As Lucy likes to continually remind me, my degree is useless, which leaves me plenty of time to plot and plan socials!🤓🍻 Though my lecture attendance is lower than my standards for men, when it comes to lax I am extremely hard working and always put the effort in. I’m aware social sec is not an easy role but I genuinely love Leeds lacrosse and am excited to put my meticulous organisational skills to use and invest time and energy into planning and running fantastic socials to ensure everyone has as much fun as I did this year!💃
Though I may be the Stevie to Lucy’s Miranda, I am 5’3 of pure determination with a loud voice, strong right hook and pretty good pint time.🥊😎 Skills which I will utilise (though maybe leave the boxing in the ring) to make every Wednesday memorable in the best way🤩 As the cool(ish) aunt to my mother hen counterpart, I can be relied upon to herd my freshie family into the loving arms of popworld, safely guiding them through the madness of mischief, and making it to rollover nice and early. 🥰🌅
Georgia, Mills and Fen did an incredible job as our social secs this year, and I loved every minute of being a silly little fresher rat. Every boat race, every shoey, every lap dance, every 2 litre bottle of cider…👀 I hope they pass on the flaming torch of social sec to Luce and I who will carry it with pride and undoubtedly give it our all to inspire a new generation of the lacrosse family to party in popworld and menace in mischief.
As we like to say: Live Laugh Lax. 💚

VOTE 4 SKYE & SKYE / SOCIAL SECS
‼️TWO IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN ONE‼️
Hey guysss! So me and @Skye Michaelis are running as a pair for the lax social secs next year and this is why you should vote for us…
We’re great friends who LOVE to party, we also both do art degrees so have way too much free time – please give us something to invest our creative juices in! We vow to keep Wednesdays the best day of the week #humpday (in more ways than one…)
Skye Michaelis has an insight into how to smoothly organise a social as she helped with Oxford Brookes lax society last year, fuelling us with inspiration, not to mention how great this years socials have been, so we are bursting with ideas!
Skye Rae-Smith is going into event planning after uni so this would mean SO much to her to put on her cv and have more experience, other than always hosting the pres…
We are both in the thirds and couldn’t be more excited for our weekly matches next year- hopefully post-match pints at terrace will be on the cards for all teams (development we’ll expect to see you there too!!)
Next year we really want our society to be a safe place for everyone so you can feel comfortable getting really weird.
We’ve tactically chosen our second year houses; Skye rae-smith has a MASSIVE garden for outdoor activities, and Skye Michaelis has a basement for a boogie and messy indoor socials.
Another thing to note is that one of us are living with the one of the potential cricket social sec which mean more mixed socials and opportunities to mingle with boys!!!! ;)
To try and persuade some of you over here are a few social ideas we have come up with:
Because we love dressing up, and we’ll have the mischief black cards we feel it would be a shame to not share that: the two best dressed each week get to come in for FREE!
Potential themes:
Dress code PRYZM (hopefully with boys who would have to wear skinny jeans and tight tops 🤤)
Y2k
Iconic duos (paired senior and fresher?)
Dress as your type
Princesses and peas
And many more…. (Tour?!!)
We will be dishing out punishments for those who fail to impress us!
We were also thinking of treating one of the early socials more like house party to the freshers/ social members more of a chance to mingle (with a few challenges as icebreakers)
We will also be reinforcing international drinking rules AT EVERY SOCIAL so line your stomachs and be prepared to down your drinks.
Games:
- Initiations in the first term (when it’s still sunny) which will be taking place in the park and may or may not include goggles, slip and slide and downing wine at the bottom!!
- Families will be organised to have inclusive drinking games such as beer pong, card games which will help you get to know your team members better.
- “Ou est le poulet” 🐓a brilliant pub game that gets you walking and discovering new pubs around Leeds (in a designated mile radius to pop world) which includes a £3 entry to the game for the bar tab, which will be at the pub where the chicken (le poulet) is hiding.
- And of course, the ritual, OTLEY RUN
We have loved every social that our social secs have organised this past year and want to continue the fun.
We really hope you liked our ideas and vote for us – we promise you won’t regret it!
If any of you have suggestions, we will 100% hear you out and try and incorporate those too xxx
Lots of love

Hello lovely laxers and sexy socialisers, I’m luce and I am running for social sec alongside my small but mighty fight nighting friend rosemary.🥊 We may not be the beautiful blonde bombshells that led our socials this season but instead like to think of ourselves as your very own Miranda and Stevie, hoping to ask you all on a Thursday morning at rollover “'what did u do last night to make you feel proud?”.😏🤢
I am proud to say that I have only missed one social this academic year- some may call me sad, some may call me committed. But it’s fair to say that despite snow, illness or 12 hour hospital shifts, I will always find myself under the luminous lights🌟 of popworld at 11:30 on a Wednesday night. I have never missed a social in vain, in fact the singular Wednesday night I was not seen in popworld was spent infiltrating the notts lacrosse social. Traitorous or ‘networking’? I’ve been busy expanding our connections for next year and showing the wider lacrosse community how leeds like to party.🪩
As my degree explains, I am an extremely maternal person, a quality which I see as invaluable to the role of social sec. Did someone say real babies at mums&babies social?🍼. I will happily help guide little freshies to the revolutionary lacrosse corner in popworld and through the mischief minefield whilst also being a wise, reassuring voice giving much needed advice on the areas to avoid on a wednesday night “cough cough front left of mischief”🏏. However, when necessary, I’ll be able to turn on a more stern parental side, ensuring litres of cider are finished and boat races are won. After all, if I can talk a woman into pushing a baby out of her I’m sure I can talk a fresher into chopping a pint in under 10 seconds.
The role of social sec requires lots of organisation and time management, skills which I’d consider myself having shown through my lack of shoeys this year by arriving in hyde park or dry dock on time. Although my degree requires more time than my counterpart miss makant, I’ve had no problem this year finding endless excuses to miss placement for lacrosse. I’ve learnt from our very own motivational medic Lara Hugh🩺, that you can successfully make it to the end of third year prioritising lacrosse over your degree, a mindset I will continually adopt for my time here at uni.
It’s fair to say that we have incredibly big shoes to fill- georgia, mills and FC thank you for taking character building to a whole new level and genuinely making wednesday nights the best nights of my life. As the daughter of one of our current social secs Georgia Morris👩👧, I feel that the role is in my blood and with a desire to make my mother proud, I will hopefully be someone that new freshers can look up to, both physically and mentally, as I do to our current social leaders.
Despite crying in popworld and chunning outside mischief, I have truly had the best time this year and made the bestest friends I could ask for through this amazing sport. I would absolutely love to take on the role of social sec with my silly little friend Rosie, continuing to sing our hearts out in popworld and follow the advice of our late friend avicii to “live a life you will remember”🥂🍺🎉💚
LUCE XOXO (hopefully lacrossip girl)🤞🤞
