My name is Matthew Camus, and I am a 3rd year computer science student who wishes to take on the role of the quartermaster to take ownership of organising equipment and merchandising. Here are a few reasons why I would be good for the role.
I have served with the group before in my second year and I’m also a part of the committee for the Leeds of the Ring Rally which we plan to host in November. With my role as On-site logistics officer, I have been organising equipment for the staging of this event. The experience that I have gained so far will be transferrable into my role as the quartermaster for LUUSAG. Also, I have served with my own scout group (1st Osterley) since I was a beaver and have achieved up to the platinum scout award. So, I have a lot of experience with scouting and scout related activities. I have been in attendance for most socials and outings of the society since I joined two years ago, and I am well known among its attendees for being reliable and friendly. Despite the toughness of my degree, I have the time and energy to devote to the society and its committee to make sure that it is run as smoothly as possible.
When elected, I aim to help in the organisation of the society by fulfilling the role of the quartermaster in making sure all equipment and orders of merchandise are organised in the proper fashion. I will endeavour to help with the planning of further scout society socials alongside the other committee members. I am confident that I can assist the operations of the group to run smoothly, and to allow as many members as possible to enjoy the benefits of what our group can offer.
