The role of Kit Sec involves the transportation of the kit to and from games. This will either be to Weetwood for home games or to Parkinson Steps if the game is away. Each game requires the kit bag, med kit, sub coats, water bottle carriers, balls and cones. You must then take the kit to the dry cleaners to be washed and collect it. You will pay the dry cleaner with your own money and then liaise with the Treasurer to be reimbursed using club funds. As well as the kit, you must also store and take all the extra equipment (i.e. balls, bibs, cones, bottles etc.) to training and matches. Due to this, it would be ideal to have a car.

Any new kit requirements will come through the kit sec, for example the designing of new kit, or helping to raise funds with other members of the committee to get fancy sub coats. Having a good relationship with exec, the coaches and the captains is important as you will need to purchase any new kit that is required (i.e. balls, bibs cones etc). It is also your responsibility to post information on where members can buy the club merch or creating new merch for our members whether that’s a pair of sliders or a bobble hat!

You are also in charge of checking that the med bag and tape is stocked with a sufficient amount of each item every week before matches (each team has their own med bags). This again is something that will have to be paid for with your own money before you get reimbursed.

Being kit sec also means that you are part of the committee and are thus involved in the key decisions of the club. You will be required to attend meetings and work with the rest of the committee to improve the club. You are able to have a lot of say in how the club runs and to put forward your own ideas to help better the club or charities we work with.
