The role of Recreational Captains is to organise the available training sessions for the squad as well as integrating members into the wider boat club. The two captains will split evenly between beginner recreational members and senior recreational members. The squad is made up of a mix of people who have some experience rowing and some who are completely new to the sport but all who would like to take part in rowing at a less competitive level with no minimum expectations in regards to training. As a result, it is important to ensure members are given different options when it comes to boats and are able to communicate easily with captains. Key duties include planning water sessions on a weekly basis and communicating with Volunteer Coordinator to ensure beginner recreational sessions are coached by volunteer coaches. It is important that whoever takes on this role is friendly and encouraging, and is also a good communicator and well-organised.
