Hi, I'm Isaac, please vote for me as next year's UML secretary! I'm good at keeping notes, organising stuff, making schedules, secretary-ing. I love going to UML events, and being part of the committee next year and helping with the society would be great!

Hi there!
As secretary I hope to continue to help make improvements to how we organise, track and care for our wonderful collection. Using my connections to local record shops and the music industry want to expand our collection, taking advantage of second hand prices to be able to buy records more frequently. I want to put thought into what we buy as well, with an emphasis on diversity in genre and artist identity.
I want to take better care of our records through regular cleaning, training sessions on record and turntable care, so they can be enjoyed for years to come. I am passionate about physical media and audio and want to run events such as how to put together an affordable sound system, how to collect and grade records, and interactive events such as making mixtapes, djing on vinyl. I would love to help organise some trips with UML next year for example to Scarborough for record shopping, or even a tour of the recently opened ‘presson vinyl’ manufacturing plant in Middlesbrough.
I want to encourage the social aspects of music listening, hosting regular listening sessions, mixtape exchanges, and events centred around specific artists, genres or albums e.g. David Bowie, Northern Soul celebrating the history and subcultures surrounding music.
