I am applying for the role of Trip Social Secretary as I believe that it is the perfect opportunity for me to return the amazing experiences that HISTSOC has given me this year to the next generation of members and be an integral part of the community.

I believe that I have valuable experience which will allow me to fulfil this role. This includes my background as Student President of my sixth form, which has provided me with excellent management and communication skills. This will allow me to successfully engage as a member of the HISTSOC committee. My role as Student President also means that I have practice liaising with outside organisations and co-ordinating large scale events, such as the end of year prom. This means that it would be no challenge for me to organise the History trip and communicate with Unilife.

I also have experience in volunteering such as providing music therapy in my local care home, which has made me an effective and clear communicator as I was often working with residents that were hard of hearing or with physical and mental disabilities. I have also given up my time working in kitchens of rugby clubs for young athletes over the past year. I am certain that these experiences will make me a great asset to the team.

I would describe myself as bubbly and outgoing - I love social events and if I am to obtain this role I am confident that I can positively contribute to the society and make it even more exciting than it already is!

I believe I would make a great Trip Social Secretary as I’m highly organized, reliable, and genuinely passionate about creating an enjoyable HistSoc experience for everyone!

I am confident in communication and working as part of a team to make sure everyone feels included and heard. My goal is to make trips smooth, fun, and stress-free for everyone, and I am fully ready to put in the time and energy to make that happen.

One thing I’d really like to prioritise is a healthy balance between cultural exploration and fun. As much as I love a bar crawl I want to make sure there are many more memorable experiences to explore. History is my passion, and I am honestly at my happiest when I am planning a trip or going on an adventure. Going to Split with HistSoc was the absolute highlight of my year- so I’ve picked up some great tips and tricks about what makes an amazing history trip. I’d love the chance to help shape more of those unforgettable moments for others.
