Hi, I’m Amelia and I’d love to be your Secretary for Modern next year!
You may have seen me in contemporary and jazz classes this year, at competitions or know me from being Social Sec last year.

Modern has been such a huge part of my uni experience from competing since first year, living in dance house for the past two years and being on committee. Through this, I’ve gained a strong understanding of how Modern operates day-to-day and what it takes to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Last year as social sec I ran the Modern Madness Instagram, meaning I have lots of experience with Canva and understand how important it is to keep people updated and engaged. I organised weekly socials as well as the dance tour to Barcelona which strengthened my organisation and communication skills, qualities that are directly transferable to a Secretary role.

Alongside this, my placement year has made me super organised and confident with emails and communication. I’d love to be involved in committee again in the role of Secretary by staying on top of emails, ensuring everything is clearly communicated and helping us maximise our opportunities as a society (in case Jason Derulo comes calling again!)

Next year I will continue sending out clear weekly emails and ensure key information is easy to find through pinned posts and highlights. I will post information about classes, competitions and shows and use stories for reminders and Q&As around freshers week, auditions and events. I will keep our TikTok active with fun videos and manage our new LinkedIn page. I want to help both current members and new joiners feel involved and informed, while showcasing everything modern gets up to.

I’d love to follow in Meg’s footsteps as a previous Social Sec turned Secretary. Definitely big shoes to fill, but I’d be so excited to take it on and help keep Modern organised, fun and welcoming for everyone.

Hey guys!!! I’m Amelia Cramant and I would be honoured to be your secretary for Leeds Modern Dance next year. Taking up dance during my time at uni has honestly made this year the best it could be, and as a first-year fashion marketing student with a strong background in dance, I would bring creativity, passion and organisation into the role. I’ve had some amazing experiences this year, such as competing in the Advanced Jazz and Wildcard group dances, but also dancing alongside Millie in our Jazz duet, bringing back so many memories of us dancing together during our time at Vale Studios. Alongside this I represented Modern for the workshop/ improv rounds at Liverpool comp, where I made it to the final 3!!!!!

During my first year being a part of Leeds modern dance we have all achieved so so much and I can’t wait to see what next year brings…. Where can be involved even more!

In terms of the secretary role, last September I was extremely confused on where to find all the important details and information for the society. Fortunately, after a quick refresh on my emails and a few Instagram follows later ( LUUMODERNDANCE, MODERNMADNESS25), due to the amazing work Meg has done this year it was all there waiting for me. And i believe through my experience in maintaining organised and aesthetically pleasing platforms, I’d ensure our society stays active, consistent and connected.

Overall, I would love the opportunity to contribute more to a society that means so much to me, by bringing enthusiasm, organisation and creativity to the role of Secretary. I would be committed to making sure every member feels comfortable and involved, whilst helping Leeds Modern Dance grow both socially and professionally. With my passion for dance, strong communication skills and dedication to the team, I know I would put my all into making this upcoming year successful, exciting and unforgettable for everyone involved.

Hi, I’m Siena and I’m running for 2026-27 secretary. I am in advanced tap, advanced tap comp and most modern events on the side, as well as weekly socials. I’m a highly organised person and enjoy creating posts for social media – let’s get Modern TikTok famous! I enjoy being creative (a nice break from my STEM degree) and would keep up the pink aesthetic seen on Modern’s Instagram and continue with regular posts which Meg has established. I would love the opportunity to be more involved in the society, as Modern has been a definite highlight of my year – from dance shows, to tour, to creating the best friends.


What I would bring to the role:

Posting more videos of dancing and classes on the Instagram, to showcase our very talented society

Implementing a more detailed end-of-semester email to showcase achievements from the semester (this can then be shared with family, etc.)

Maintaining the organised email structures (contents page, subheadings, important links)

Introducing an accessible FAQs highlight on Instagram which will be updated throughout the year, including any questions that dancers have so everyone is well informed

Keeping the social media pages fresh and engaging. I already have ideas for how to keep content fun (e.g. committee takeovers on the story during comp days!)


I’d love to be considered for secretary as I would enjoy getting stuck in with the society. I am an approachable and friendly person who is always open to chat with any member, no matter the query. I am also a structured person (as seen by my Google Calendar on my poster) and so I would always be on time with posts, emails and answering DMs. I would love to bring fresh ideas to Modern’s social pages and keep the society fun for new members!
