When I first joined this society, I was socially anxious and unsure of myself. I wasn’t sure if I would fit in. But thanks to a few incredible members who encouraged me and helped boost my confidence, I found a place where I felt welcome. Now, I want to give back by making sure that everyone has the same opportunity to feel included and valued, just like I did.
As Vice President, I will work to bring the society together, ensuring that it remains a welcoming and supportive space for all members. I believe that everyone deserves a chance to express themselves, no matter how socially anxious they may be, and I want to make sure that this society is a place where people feel comfortable being themselves.
I am also committed to the future success of the society. I want to help create more opportunities for members to get involved, whether through socials, race watch-a-longs, or other events that bring us together. My goal is to make sure that everyone feels engaged, supported, and excited to be a part of this community.
This society has had a huge impact on my confidence and my university experience, and I want to give others that same experience. I am ready to dedicate my time and effort to making this society the best it can be.

Hey! I’m Alice and I will be a final year Economics and Geography student this coming year! I am currently studying abroad in Wellington, and am excited to come back to Leeds! I was a part of the society my first two years at Leeds and would love to come back and represent the society. I’ve gained so many friends through motorsport and would love to produce that same environment for everyone coming to Leeds and coming back to the society. I would like to nominate myself for a committee role for these reasons.
Having previously been on another committee, I have helpful experience in running a society and organising activities, transport and communication of that information. This has given me skills which would be great in the VP or Secretary roles. I have also attended most events put on by the society in my two years so have a good understanding of what it takes and what needs to be run. I would like to continue welfare sessions, so people have a safe space to come talk and just chill. I would also be keen to introduce a rookie title for the TDY or a most improved, to reward people’s commitment and dedication!
Motorsport is a big love of mine, I stood in the rain in Melbourne this year for 7 hours which is pretty decent dedication! I am also very much looking forward to not watching races at 1am and being in the Library with everyone. I would be so excited to be a part of the committee, to provide a welcoming environment and continue to get more women involved in all society events. The warm and welcoming environment was incredible when I joined and I would love to continue that!

Hi, my name is Valentyn, and I am very excited to be running for Vice President this year!

This society has been a huge part of my university life, from the socials to the karting and watch alongs I have enjoyed every bit of it making friends for life. As the society has made such a huge impact on me, I would love the chance to give back by taking on Vice President responsibilities and ensuring the society can win society of the year again!

As Vice President I would aim to build on the wonderful work of Joanna from last year by taking on the responsibilities of keeping tally of the tdy points, running the guess the grid and F1 fantasy league and just generally assisting other committee members.

I have attended every round of Tour De Yorkshire this year and still don’t fully understand how the points system works. If I was to get the role, I would make a points guide available to everyone in case they were curious as to how the points system works. Furthermore, I will aim to provide regular updates on the tdy rankings throughout the year and will make a spreadsheet available so people can track their progress throughout the year.

Guess the Grid is a fun concept which I believe is great the way it is so I will aim to keep on top of it and make it as fun as possible for everyone. One change I would make however, would be to provide a progress tracker in the form of a leaderboard after every weekend so people could see how well they’re doing. Knowing you’re not far of the top might encourage some people to participate.

I will also aim to help out fellow committee members as much as possible to make their jobs easier as the Vice President doesn’t have as many responsibilities as some of the other committee roles. I know how hard all of the committee work to ensure the society runs smoothly; therefore, I will try my best to make life easier for them by assisting them in any way I can.

Hey everyone! I’m Em, a second year Economics student, and I’m running to be Vice President for the 2025/26 year! For the past two years, I have been a loyal member of the society, and in that time, I have seen the importance of our community on so many individuals, including myself. Because of this, I want to take on a role that would allow me to finally give back to a community that has given me so much.

As VP, I would ensure:
- Responsible and reliable leadership alongside the President,
- Enhanced member engagement: increased growth of inclusivity to ensure all voices within the society are heard,
- Championing a welcoming & safe environment (all with a smiley face!)
- Expanding our horizons: introducing new and exciting opportunities for every member.

What excites me most about the role of Vice President is the opportunity to support and work alongside the President, helping to create new and exciting opportunities for all members, and contribute to the smooth running of the society. I want to ensure that everyone in the society feels included, whether you’re a seasoned member of the community or are just getting started within the society, to foster an environment that caters to everyone. To do so, I will put focus on creating open lines of communication between the committee and members, ensuring everyone stays informed and involved.
I’ve gained valuable leadership experience in various previous roles and have been fortunate to have built a close relationship with the current committee over the past year. I believe this has put me at an advantage, as it has provided me with a deep understanding of how the society operates, and I’m eager to use this knowledge to drive our society forward in the next academic year!

Ultimately, I want to make sure our society stays thriving, exciting, and welcoming for everyone. I’m super passionate about our community here in Leeds, and I am ready to put in the work to ensure that our society continues to grow, have fun, and continues to create great memories for us all!!!

Hey everyone! I’m Daria ( however please call me Dasha😁), a First Year Mechanical Engineering student, and I’m excited to be running for Vice-President of the Motorsport Society!
I’ve been a member of the society for two years now. My journey began during my International Foundation Year, and since then, I’ve been fully immersed in all things Motorsport. From socials and Formula 1 watchalongs to karting events, I love being part of this amazing community. Along the way, I’ve had the chance to get to know many of you, as well as our current committee and I’m already familiar with how things are run behind the scenes.
I believe I’d make a strong Vice-President because I have a clear understanding of the role and what it requires. From keeping in touch with our kit providers, to running fun initiatives like Guess the Grid and the F1 Fantasy League, as well as counting the TDY championship points throughout the year (I will try my best not to rig them😊). Having observed it in action, I’m confident in my ability to step in and contribute effectively. I bring a strong sense of organisation, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to everything I take on, and I’m ready to support the team and the wider community in a professional and reliable way.
I’m also really happy to support the President in the day-to-day running of the society and help with anything extra that comes on the way. I love working with people, I’m friendly, approachable, and always up for a challenge, especially if it helps keep our society running smoothly and our members engaged.
Outside of the organisational side, I’m a passionate karter. I compete in the BUKC Championship and our internal TDY races, so I know how important these events are to our members. I’m always around for a chat, happy to help, and love sharing the Motorsport experience with everyone.

Hi! I’m Finn, a first year Law student excited to be running for the committee position of Vice President. Since joining the Leeds Motorsport Society at the start of first term I have thoroughly enjoyed the events and opportunities that the current committee have made possible. The sense of community and friendship that have come with being a member has made the experience that much better and if voted I would aim to replicate this for incoming members.

The core roles of being Vice President, such as, liaising with kit providers and ordering awards require strong communication and professionalism. These are skills I believe I have gained and developed from working a customer-faced part time job during a-levels and from experience of being an active royal air force air cadet for over three years, gaining leadership certifications and awards.

Having observed the great relationships and collective pride of the current committee I hope to be active in assisting other committee members in the everyday running of the society and to always participate in society meetings and events, as well as voluntarily taking on additional tasks beyond the primary roles required of me.

Ensuring that the society remains a safe space for everyone is a top priority for me. I support the continuation of the welfare sessions and I would like to take an active part alongside other committee members in improving these over the next academic year.
