Hi there, I’m Emily. I want to start out by saying I’m completely new to Leeds Album Review Society. I’m studying ecology and have spent the last year away on placement, during which time I’ve really gotten into music and have been following the society from afar. As a musician myself I have a great appreciation for music and am looking to immerse myself in it during my final year at university.
Having previously acted as a secretary for another society, I have experience booking events, setting up collaborations with other societies and communicating with committee and members alike. I look forward to getting the chance to work with other committee members, many of whom are more experienced, to learn more about how the society works and what members want from us, as to provide you with the best possible experience. It’s super important to me to support the grassroots music scene, so would also love to support up-and-coming musicians within the society and universities in general.
It's really important to me to help foster a community of like-minded, music-loving individuals that goes beyond the sessions run by the society and I can’t wait to become a part of the group next year. I appreciate anyone taking the time to read this and hope you take a chance on me, even as a new face.
