Before I even got to Leeds I was looking for societies and the album review really sparked my curiosity. I have enjoyed my time in this society and would like to continue on as a member of the community. This society feels like a great community for people who are music nerds regardless if they can or can’t play an instrument or sing. I have loved all the events and even the debates. I believe that the society hasn’t reached their full potential yet and I know making me social secretary would change that. As social secretary I can make sure that all members of the society will enjoy all the events by making sure it accommodates to their music taste. I think it’s important to have people in the committee who listen to different kinds of music as this makes it possible to have more ideas and events that different kinds of people can go to. As well I believe having me part of the committee would bring more of a diverse group of people to the society as I’m a very social person and open minded towards everyone’s interests. I am hoping by getting this position we can all be down to pick from my apple tree. (Erykah Badu reference )

Hey everyone I'm back! :)
I am so happy this year was great socially, being your social sec from Semester 2 has been so much fun!
For those of you who do not know, I'm Henry, a regular in album review soc since first year.
In Semester 2, I helped implement my ideas of having a tournament with Red albums, as well as a music hot take debate section during an album review which helped promote music discourse.
If I am re-elected, I will aim to foster collaboration with other music societies such as Union Music Library, FilmSoc. As our participant memberships have risen, with more students from Beckett, metFilm and other universities attending, I will also aim to promote our society with the wider student population, helping music discourse flourish!
