I am first year international relations student who is organised, creative and determined to make you the heart of what you see at your socials. I have made my closest friend POLISOC and I want to make these events as accessible to everyone to help the society thrive and for you to have a wild time.

In position of Social Sec my focuses are on increasing a diverse range of socials including making these on various days of the week, themed socials-horrible fresher outfits- and introducing sober socials e.g. day trips to trampoline parks and new cities as well as co-operating with other societies to create larger and better funded events to help members pay for events counting the trip abroad. On top of this creating networking hours to allow those across years to learn from one another and of course share their crazy social ideas.

I have been part of many fundraising events and campaigns for better funded opportunities so I definitely feel this is possible and of course I am trained in the entertainment industry.

Hey! My name is Abdul, and I’m running to be one of your social secretaries for POLIS next year. It has been fantastic meeting all of you throughout the year at various socials. I want to build on this by making your socials next year even better than before through greater consistency, engagement, and organisation.
I am standing for this role to bring new ideas forward, which will help to better organise socials and major events, such as the summer ball and the trip abroad. I will achieve this not only through my skills and experience but also by working more closely with you through increased transparency around major plans and providing more opportunities for polls. These will help the committee plan socials that you enjoy and suit your interests.
I will bring back popular socials such as the competitive fridge-to-fridge, the secret social, as well as organising an Otley Run and boosting collaboration with other societies, the school, and delivering more careers panels with free pizza, of course!
My experience with project management will also enable me to deliver effective events. I have helped plan numerous holidays abroad with friends, my leavers' prom, and have played a key role in organising several work-related socials that are inclusive and fun for everyone.
This external experience complements my active involvement within the POLIS society. My experiences, from the trip abroad to Barcelona this year to the fridge-to-fridge in Semester 1, have given me a clear understanding of what needs improving and what works well.
I will use my skills, experience, and enthusiasm to create socials that are inclusive, well-organised, and most importantly, enjoyable for all members.

Hi. I’m Hannah and I would like to be one of your social secretaries for the POLIS Society next year!
I want to make the POLIS society an even more exciting society to be in by planning a range of socials that are made for everyone. I pledge to bring back socials that everyone remembers and enjoyed and want to introduce new socials to attract a greater engagement from members. I would like to bring back the “secret social” and “fridge to fridge” with a more competitive element, and also hold the POLIS Olympics to continue working in teams and to help get to know your fellow POLIS society members better.
Pub quizzes are a must, as well as organising big events such as a trip abroad and a POLIS ball. At the same time ensuring events that allow for POLIS members to keep up to date with current political events and have opportunities to find their careers to aspire to, and don’t worry there will be free food along the way.
I am experienced with organising events such as helping organise a husting for all the candidates for MP in my constituency at school and organising my girls holiday in preparation for next year’s POLIS trip abroad.
I would be thrilled to be your social secretary and promise I would put everything into making socials the most consistently exciting socials! Vote Hannah!

Hey everyone! I'm Georgia and I'm running to be your social sec this year!

My main focus will be on giving you guys even more consistent socials!
The socials this year have been great so I'd love to diversify them. Some of my ideas include a POLIS Otley run, bimonthly pub quizzes, clothes swaps, and more!! The most important thing for me is for everyone to have a good time and I know I can create that environment for anyone :)
