What’s the value of political discussion if not everyone feels included in it? I’m Delphi, and I’m running for Welfare Secretary because I believe everyone has the right to be involved and supported. A Politics Society should be a space where all voices are heard, not just the loudest or most confident. I want to help create an environment where people feel supported to speak, share ideas, and be part of the conversation, because politics is strongest when it includes everyone. I want to provide support and help to those, with completing an internship in samaritans and training in mental health services, I believe I have the proper resources and training to provide assistance and advice to those who need it. I am open and willing to support those who need it.

Hi I'm Zachary, a first year politics student and I'm running to be your next Welfare secretary. My goal is to ensure that PolisSoc is safe, inclusive and supportive space where every member feels they have a voice.

The role of Welfare Secretary requires someone who is empathetic and an active listener. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by your degree, anxious about attending a social or just need a chat, I want to be that friendly face you can always turn to.

I am committed to putting your well-being first. Your concerns are my priority, and I would love there chance to support you all this coming year.

Hey everyone! My names Katie Pugh and I would love to be your new welfare sec next year :)

I genuinely care about and love this society as I feel it’s a place for all of us on similar courses to come together and have a good time! From pub quizzes, chicken or ‘Bojo’ chase and dressing up as political figures I’ve been involved in lots of fun events with this society. Socials are a huge part of uni life so its only right that there’s someone to make sure everyone has a good time – whether that’s checking in with someone after a chaotic night out, making sure no-one feels unwelcome or uncomfortable or planning some fun wellbeing events that can help bring us even closer as a society! I am approachable and proactive along with being very chatty so I will always be there to help or just provide an ear for anyone. For me, the most important thing about being part of a society is having fun and I hope that’s what I’ll be able to make sure happens along with being safe and happy!!
