Cheer has totally made my Uni experience so far (even after being too scared to try out in first year). I am so passionate about match and the friendships I have formed here that I can already tell will last a lifetime. I feel so proud to be part of Celtics and would love to help shape this amazing, supportive experience for others, already here or on their way, even a tiny wee bit. My policies are listed above, and I’ll go into more detail at AGM, which also happens to be on my birthday ;) Please consider voting for me- it means the absolute world! x

I did competitive cheer when I was younger because it was all that was available to me but what I REALLY wanted to do was perform at sports matches, so I was SUPER excited to do this at uni. As much as I have had sooo much fun this year on the match team and I’d easily do the whole year all over again in a heartbeat, I definitely believe that we should be doing MORE matches. 💚❤️

If we do more matches then trainings will feel much more productive if we know we have something coming up to specifically train for. Also, memberships and uniform are expensive so it will definitely be good for us to get more wears out of the uniform and go to more matches and get our moneys worth. 💷

I am looking to arrange away matches as well, that way match cheerleaders get that same fun coach vibe that is felt on the way to competitions. 🚌

I would enjoy being involved in the GIAG and tryout sessions too, especially having experience in cheer before I do believe I would have a good input in those.💚❤️

I want the match teams to feel even more bonded; I’m thinking post match drinks (not necessarily alcoholic, unless people want to then they can cover up their uniform/change out of stash, but also things like grabbing a bite to eat after matches) and a routine that involves both reds AND greens - one massive performance at the end of the year, maybe incorporated into lions last roar. 🦁

There has been LOTS of lions asking for cover this year 😬 I want to really enforce punishments for missing training. This year I have only missed one training (when I had covid and I didn’t get out of bed for 3 days lol), which is why I want to implement conditioning as a punishment for those who unnecessarily miss training - obviously if they were ill then doing loads of burpees won’t be the best - but those who don’t have a valid reason will not only get a strike but have to come to the next training early to do conditioning (only early by 5 minutes or so but I wouldn’t want the whole team to have to wait for one person to do conditioning because they missed the last training). Anyone who misses a training will also have to miss the social for that week - if you are not well enough to train you are not well enough for a night out! 🤧

Joining Lions Green has truly been the best decision I have made whilst at Leeds. I am so grateful for Celtics for introducing me to so many new friends. I would love to be the match sec so I can be even more involved in the society, helping freshers feel as welcome as I did, help organise my own favourite days such as fight night and showcase and more specifically introducing cheer with even more sports, through performing at their matches.
