I have been in SJA for over 10 years now and in this unit for the past academic year. I have enjoyed the unit meetings that have been run and wish to contribute to the training given as I understand the importance of quality training especially for such an important topic/skill. I used to help with the training of cadets at my old unit before moving and wish to pick it back up again. I would like to bring my knowledge and experience to the unit meetings to help further the training sessions and continue to make them engaging and fulfilling.

I have been a part of St John for over 13 years and the last few months I have attended both leeds Headrow and the university of leeds SJA unit. Currently I am a youth helper at The Headrow where I liaise with other youth volunteers in supporting and guiding cadets with their First Aid skills and knowledge. However I would love the opportunity to extend my training and help teach within the university unit. Over these last few months I have met many trained first aiders, cadets and society members whose passion lies in supporting others, enhancing learning, dedicating time to others and following the HEART values. Therefore if I gained the opportunity to be part of a team teaching at SJA university unit, I would collaborate with society and team members acknowledging the main topics of concern and areas of interest. Overall creating fun, educational, engaging, collaborative sessions and scenarios for all members no matter the skill level obtained.

As a member of the society for two years now, I understand how important the training team is. With my experience, having done this role for the previous 1.5 years, I can't wait to deliver more outstanding sessions. I have lots of ideas and would love to work collaboratively with the team to give high-quality sessions which are accessible, engaging, and offer lots of development for all. I would also use the lessons I have learnt so far in this role to improve the training delivered and inform what we do in the future.
Overall, I would love to be one of your training officers over the next year and deliver great sessions for everyone.

Hi I'm Abi, and I'm a second year Human Physiology student and joined the society in September. I am running for training officer because the first aid sessions have been what I've enjoyed the most this year. After completing my undergrad I aspire to become a Physician Associate, as I am interested in helping patients with diagnosis and treatments. Outside of my degree I love playing for the FOBsoc netball team, and in summer I volunteer as an athletics coach. My aim is to make the sessions not only informative, but fun and interactive for all members.
