Hey everyone! I’m Ruby, your smiley, short, silly friend 😊. As a member of LUU Street for two years, and a music psychology student, I have a deep value for this community. I’d love to be your go-to friendly face to existing and brand new members at every dance class/rehearsal/socials. Music therapy may be my desired profession, but dance therapy has always been my hobby. I love dance, and I think it’s more than movement; it's about joy, connection, and support.

I’m eager to serve as welfare secretary to ensure every member of street feels heard and supported. With my infectious energy and genuine care,I’d love to bring some ideas to life!

💃I’d like to engage actively on the social media page with inspiration and information to provide a selection of well-being and support avenues for members to utilise.

🕺I’d like for LUU Street to work with local mental health charities and societies to raise money and awareness for a good cause (SASHA UOL, Leeds heart beats; Leeds mind, Mind well Leeds)

🕴️I’d like to create and host socials that are sober, inclusive and centred around our shared love for dance

Having found my safe space within LUU Street, I’d be honoured to create a welcoming place for others. The ladies who preceded me have made a mark on my life, and with this new role, there is a whole new opportunity for conversations of well-being and community to flourish within our society.

In essence, I am here to be more than just a welfare secretary; I’m here to be your ally, your biggest supporter, and your friend 🫶

Going into my second year at uni and in the society, I’m keen to continue the hard work and efforts of the serving committee in the new role of Welfare sec. LUU Street was such a wonderful, fun and welcoming place for little freshie Lucy and allowed me to continue my life long passion. (It was one of the main reasons why I chose Leeds) I’d love to continue to help Street be the best society at LUU. Dance has been such a large part of my identity and has also kept me from going crazy with all the stresses life and uni throws at us. As your Welfare sec I want to offer the same release and fun that street gives me to all members of the society. Hopefully I get your votes, love from luce xx
